Mia x Reader

As I waited at the airport terminal, I kept an eye out for one of the people who should've gotten off that last plane: Mia Taylor. Last year, Mia came and studied here in Odaiba at Nijigasaki, where I'm still a student, currently in my second year. At first, I wouldn't consider our relationship the best, but as she spent time there, I tried reaching out towards her and before long we became friends. And in the end, our relationship developed into something more and we ended up becoming lovers.

However, due to the fact that she transferred here as a third year, after graduation she had to return to America, and our relationship has become long distance. It's been a little hard on us both and there's nothing I want to do more than be able to hold this wonderful close, but it's a little hard with an ocean and an entire continent between us. But still, when she's off from school, she'll come visit for about a couple days. With her being in her final month of summer break, and my summer break beginning, she said she'd be coming to visit so we could spend a while together.

Eventually I saw a familiar head of silver hair walking through the crowds, which I got up and walked up to. "Well if it isn't the amazing Mia Taylor." I said as I tapped on her shoulder

She turned towards me and smiled as she said "Hey there Y/n."

"So how've you been holding up?" I asked, taking hold of her free hand as we began to walk

"I've been good for the most part." Mia said "My composing work has been going well, and so has college, but I've been missing you, Rina, and the others."

"Well then it's a good thing you're here to recharge." I said "For now we can go get your stuff set up at my place while I start dinner then play some games or something."

"That works with me." Mia said as we began to head out of the airport. It's funny how something as simple as holding hands with her became something I missed so much.

After we got to my place, I let out a yawn and said "It's still just me here but now at the very least I have your company."

With the way my parents' jobs are, they ended up needing to move elsewhere, but with a sufficient amount of convincing, I got them to accept the idea of letting me stay here in Odaiba. My apartment isn't huge, but it's still enough for me and Mia to live here comfortably during her visits.

Mia took her luggage to my room where since her last visit, we'll share a bed when she's here, and I headed over to my fridge. I had prepared some homemade hamburger patties for the first night she's here, and along with grabbing those, I grabbed some oil and a skillet.

I put the oil in to heat up when Mia headed in and said "Alright, I think I'm set up for the moment."

"Gotcha." I said, "By the way, we'll be having burgers for dinner."

"Awesome, you're really good at making them" Mia said

"I mean I live alone and so I figured I might as well learn to cook. Unlike a certain beauty I know, I'm not good with just an energy bar for dinner." I said teasingly

"Shut up" Mia said, punching my shoulder lightly in response to my comment

"You can't deny the truth." I said in response "But in any case, I'll bring our burgers into the living room once I'm done so just give me a minute."

"Alright." Mia said before heading to the living room

I finished our burgers and after making them the way we like them, I took a deep breath and headed to the living room, still mentally preparing myself to tell Mia some important news later.

"And they're done." I said, putting Mia's plate on the table in front of her

"It looks great, thanks Y/n." Mia said before she picked it up and took a bite.

After we finished our food, we sat on the couch talking about whatever for a while, resting our heads on each other's shoulders when I took one more deep breath and said "Hey Mia, there's something I need to tell you. It's about us."

"What is it?" Mia asked

"Well with how difficult the distance between us makes things, it got me thinking. And so after talking to my parents, and finding out what I could, I've decided to try and apply to spend my last year abroad. I found a school that was willing to take in transfer students and was even in New York. That way even for a little while we were closer." I said.

I had talked to my parents and asked for their permission to go for it over the phone, and after telling me that they were okay with me going for it, they said something that's still stuck in my mind. That couples that are truly right for each other wade through the same crap as all couples, but the big difference is that they won't let it take them down. One of those two people will stand up and fight for that relationship every time if it's right and if they're lucky, one of them will say something. I love Mia, and my relationship with her feels so wonderful that no wonder I'm gonna try and fight for it.

"I love you Mia, and I want to be beside you." I said

Mia smiled and we shared a kiss on the lips, god how I've missed kissing her. "Y/n, I've actually been talking to my parents about maybe me moving back here to be closer to you all. I love my family, and I grew up there, but I also love being with you and the others. But with what you're saying, it looks like plans have changed. You spend next year in New York with me, and then we'll maybe find a place together here in Tokyo, and while I finish up college, you'll be starting it."

I pulled Mia close and said "Sounds like a plan to me."

With our new plans starting to take form, we spent a while talking and eventually playing games together, enjoying being able to be so close to each other again.

That night, as I laid in bed beside the sleeping Mia, her face was illuminated ever so slightly by light coming in through the window. As I looked at the sleeping face of my cute girlfriend, I remembered my parents' words again. That if a relationship is truly right, one of those two will fight for it. But with how me and Mia have things in mind now, it looks like it's both of us fighting for this relationship.
