"Visit again!" Hueningkai beamed at the customer who gave him a polite smile and walked out of the door. He slumped down on the counter when the door slammed shut, that was the last customer of the day and he could go home and perhaps treat himself some good food.

Ramen sounded really appealing now and then he would get to finally see his grandma and just listen to her soothing voice until he falls asleep. The only family he had, his mother and father passed away in an accident and he grew up with his grandmother and she was everything he could ever ask for.

Greedy cousins, rich aunts and douche uncles did not sit well with him, so he stayed away from them. They did not help him in any way either so that wasn't really a loss for him, his cousins bullied him and Kai had enough of that in school, he did not want any additions to that.

His grandmother raised him to be good and kind and kind of naïve, and his innocence did lead to people using him. But he matured, understood how people work and some principles from his grandma would always remain with him but he wouldn't let people dictate his life like he did before.

With the backpack was slung over his left shoulder he left the café, greeting the next barista with a polite smile and wished him luck with a wave. Huening Kai part timed in the stardust café, he also worked as music teacher in a small art school.

The school paid him enough to live on his own, but he worked in the café too to earn and save fifty million won for his grandmother's surgery. She had cataract, and the doctors informed him that the bill would make a whooping fifty million won giving him a heart attack. He wished that there was some easy way to earn money.

"if only money came that easily" He drawled out, kicking a stone away and walking solemnly. The growling in his stomach indicated that he had to eat food, he took a detour to the convenience store, buying himself four cups of ramen.

His grandmother would have already been asleep, he made sure to cook her some food before going to work, he hopes that she gets enough rest and doesn't start worrying about him.

The sky mirrors his mood, grey and melancholic. Few people are on the street and some of them have colorful umbrellas in their hands, who wouldn't when the sky looks like it can rain any minute. He should be hurrying up, but he doesn't.

Instead he hums a melody which his mother taught when he was young and quiet honestly the only clear memory Kai has from the perspective of his seven year old self, he inhales the smell of earth, it has the most sweetest smell before raining and Kai absolutely loves it, reminds him of the last trip he went with his parents to the woods and rented a cabin there.

His mood drops again so he distracts himself with the thoughts reverting back to the eccentric stranger with the vibrant blue hair. The man was pretty, really pretty and also was Kai's senior in high school.

As soon as the boy caught a sight of him, he instantly recognized the elder. He was a bit bummed that the older did not recognize him but then he does know the transformation he went through.

He lost about 40 pounds and he uses contacts now, instead of geeky glasses. His fashion sense has improved, broadened from the boring hoodies and track pants to Jean's and shirts.

He still has those hoodies, and he does wear it in the comfort of his home. But to work he made sure wear decently fashionable clothes. His hair was also dyed a platinum blonde now and his features have become sharper.

Back in high school he was a music nerd and a loner and the only friend he had was Eunwoo, the topper of the class. He was a social butterfly and loved by all, but Kai doesn't know why Eunwoo was friends with him.

He soon reaches the house, the sight of his small home warmed his heart.

Finally home.

It stands across the convenience store, but Kai never shops at that one because he doesn't like the creepy cashier who always attempted to flirt with him. He was gay, but the girl did not understand the subtle gestures.

He couldn't tell it out, since well he lived in a homophobic country and coming out would be a huge problem. He first discovered that he was gay because of the now blue haired senior Yeonjun.

He settles himself on the couch with the ramen beside him and smiles to himself at the fond memories, Yeonjun was the typical popular kid with a lot of female followers and loved by all, Kai always watched him in an distance wondering how would it be to talk to him lest being his boyfriend.

But Yeonjun was straight and he knew it from from the number of girlfriends and flirting with the girls. He met him once in the detention when Kai had slept in the class, and Yeonjun had disrespected the teacher (he only stood up for the right cause, but the teacher's ego caused him trouble.)

He still remembered the day vividly, he had striking neon yellow hair, it wasn't liked by the teachers but he got away with it like everything else, just a simple detention and he would off with no records of it.

Huening Kai did not know how he did it but he managed to work the magic. Meanwhile his shy self took the seat nearest to the window, adjusting his thick framed rectangular glasses and avoided Yeonjun with every fiber in his being.

The said boy took the center seat and already people swarming around him like bees. of course Yeonjun was the prettiest flower and he himself was a bee resisting the temptation.

His shirt was unbuttoned till the collar bones giving generous amount of milky skin to see, tucked into the navy blue uniform pants. His tie was loosened a little, and blue hair was slicked back.

He heard two girls talking about how good he looked with the slicked back hair, Kai found it attractive too but his favorite look on Yeonjun would be the ruffled hair, when it looked extremely soft and he is overcome by the urge to run his fingers through the luscious locks.

Minutes felt like hours but finally the teacher came in, after the attendance Yeonjun sneakily shifted to the bench next to him probably to avoid attention and yet his heart sped up and his ears reddened.

Darn his massive crush on the man. In an attempt to seem cool, he whispered a greeting to Yeonjun who politely did the same. To keep the conversation prolonging he asked him the reason for the detention and the boy looked so uncomfortable while explaining it.

He kept glancing at others and a strained smile on his face. Kai himself felt guilty for putting him in an place like this.

Of course, he wouldn't talk to a loner who also happens to be plump and wears geeky glasses with huge eyebags. Yeonjun has a reputation to maintain, what the hell was Kai thinking.

So he ended the conversation with that question and turned away towards the window, he heard excited whispers beside him as the girls talked to Yeonjun and the guy mirrored their enthusiasm.

Tears collected in his eyes as he continued gazing outside, burying his face between his arms on the desk he let the silent tears escape as his heart constricted in his chest.

Huening Kai grimaced at the memory. Why did he remember those embarrassing memories, they just made him cringe. How sensitive of a kid he was in high school.

Now he had changed, putting more effort in his appearance, hitting the gym once in a while to keep fit and adapting a skincare routine.

The current Huening Kai loved himself, the change and confidence he learnt, Beomgyu was there throughout his transformation from the uni and he loved the guy, he was over Yeonjun a long ago and as of now he still was gay and single without any current crushes at least.

He just finds the Pizzeria manager Soobin a little attractive, nothing more and nothing less. "Kai!" and that was his cue to greet his grandmother, throwing the empty ramen cup away he sauntered towards the woman he loved the most, letting the memories of his cringe encounter with the blue haired Choi Yeonjun fade away.
