Yeonjun and Hueningkai ended up in the setting exactly after 26.5 minutes since the announcement and Hueningkai knows this because he kept counting the time since the announcement.
He assumed it would help calm his nerves but if anything it made him more anxious. As much as he would hate to admit it, it felt slightly better when Yeonjun slipped his hands into his.
It was warm and helped him calm down from the silent assurance ,however his own stubbornness wasn't satisfied with letting Yeonjun think he calmed Kai, so he continued with counting just to prove a valid (vain) point.
"Whoa, this is something else" Yeonjun voices before him and Kai finally takes in the room. The game would start when the buzzer sounds, and the time limit given was 2.5 hours.
Their set was named 'Pharaoh of the seven' and Kai from the name guessed there should be seven clues to get out of the room.
The ceiling had a huge chandelier, yellow light reflecting from it. The walls looked ancient and the whole setting made Kai feel like he actually was in Egypt.
The small intricate details of sand carvings were there and he was awed by how much effort it would have taken to prepare the whole game.
'rrrring' the buzzer sounds and Yeonjun immediately starts scouring the room for clues, Hueningkai stands dazed still taking in the room, however with a nudge from Yeonjun he scurries over to find the clues.
"I'll check the door, and find out how we should open the door and what we should look for" Kai says hurriedly and faces to the far end of the door.
It's a good thing, they don't have multiple rooms attached making it even more big and complex.
Meanwhile Yeonjun crouches down over a limp of sand near the lamp stand and tentatively clears the sand with his fingers, a hard cover touches his fingers , prompting him to be faster.
A red diary comes into view, with the letters 'FIND' in gold calligraphy. He opens the book and finds a riddle written in black ink.
'Skip to the place of work
Touch nothing but look near
On the surface I do lurkFind me right on here'
Yeonjun read it aloud and blinked twice, he did not get one bit. 'Skip to the place of work'? What the hell is that supposed to mean. His musing is interrupted when the blonde skipped to him and shook his shoulder so hard that it almost was dislocated.
"What is it?" He grunts out holding Kai's wrist in place. "As I expected, we need to find seven clues. Keys to be exact. There are seven keyholes and all of them are supposed to be inserted and turn in at once." Kai pants.
"Oh Ok, our first clue is here and I don't what the hell that means" Yeonjun hands the paper to the taller and slips away from under him, going to find a second clue.
He takes a look at the whole room once again, a small table stands with a lock on the drawer. A round stick, decorated with what seemed to be black velvet cloth. It was completely covered in it and Yeonjun was too skeptical to touch it, so he left it be.
"AHA That's it!" The scream of victory startles Yeonjun and he jumps out of skin, hand on his chest, "Can you not do that?" He voices weakly but Kai only walks past him grinning like a Cheshire cat.
"I got it Yeonjun, and here you were boasting about being excellent with the escape room. Wonder where that went?" Kai taunts with a stupidly attractive smirk. "I need to get the flair, it's just the start" Yeonjun grunts, his pride hurt.
