When I wake up after the fight with my mom, I have the biggest headache I ever had. I don’t want to get up, I pull the blanket up over my head because of the brightness making my head pound even harder. Xavier moves behind me.

“Come on.” He says.

“Mm-Hm.” I say as I shake my head.

“Why, what’s wrong, you’re not still upset, are you?”

“Yes and no. I have a headache, but I am still mad at my mom.”

“Do you want some ibuprofen?” He asks ignoring the still mad comment.

“No, I can’t take ibuprofen or Tylenol, but I can have Advil though. I also want a big bowl of cereal, I’m starving.”

“Okay.” He says and leaves. I fall back to sleep.

I wake up by someone sitting on the edge of the bed.

“Can we talk, Xavier?” Cloe asks.

I don’t say anything, not wanting her to know that she’s talking to the wrong person and also wanting to know what she wants to say to my boyfriend-slash-baby daddy.

“I’ll take your silence as just get it over with.” She takes a deep breath.

“Look, I don’t know what that blind girl is doing by hanging around you all the time, but it’s driving me nuts. I love you Xavier. I always have, there I said it.” She takes another intake of a deep breath.

“Are you going to say something?” she asks.

I move onto my back and sit up onto my elbows.

“How about? Leave my boyfriend alone.” I say.

She looks back at me with both shock and scorn.

“Get out of Xavier’s bed.” She demands.

“I don’t think so, he’s my boyfriend, if anyone should leave it should be— “

She punches me in the stomach. I stand up quickly, but I collapse from the pain in my stomach. Destiny is walking by and looks into the room just as she does and then she comes back into view.

“Rose!” She yells, scared for me and comes running over to me and drops to her knees next to me.

I am on the floor sobbing when Xavier comes into the room. He looks at me holding my stomach to Cloe who is glaring at me. He sets the bowl down on the nightstand and comes over to me, he looks me over and when he notices that I’ll be fine, he turns and glares at Cloe.

“What is the matter with you? You could’ve killed her.” He yells. It probably wouldn’t have killed me, but it could kill the baby. Hmm, it would be nice to have a daughter with his eyes.

“How in the fucking hell could I have killed her all I did was punch her, sheesh you’re all acting as if I just stabbed her.”

“I’m pregnant, you fucking bitch.” I yell and sob at the same time.

I don’t know how it is possible, but she looks like she hates me even more.

“I’m the bitch? You’re the one who’s sleeping with someone I love.” She says nasally.

“This isn’t love, dammit.” I say, and I have another sharp pain in my stomach.

“Xavier, it hurts.” I sob.

He picks me up and then glares at Cloe.

“You need to leave, now.” He says with more hatred than I ever heard come out of his mouth.
