3rd POV:

The situation was dire in Izuku's mind because some heroes that were a part of the rescue operations that the World Hero Association had sent them to join screwed up big time. In all honestly, it's a horrible idea to use a powerful fire quirk to melt large amounts of snow that was a part of an avalanche for multiple reason! Firstly, the snow is not compacted and is very lose meaning that if you were to melt the snow to quickly then the top layers above can come tumbling down causing another entire avalanche that just destroys all of the work that rescuers have already completed as well as risks endangering even more people. Secondly, there is the fact that all of the melted snow turns into water which has to go someone and the only place it can go is really downwards due to the slopes of the mountain. This means that it will all go rushing towards the bottom where the main rescue operations were being stationed out of and risk these places being flooded due to a sudden rush of melted snow that would cause muddy issues and slow down operations.

Now, Izuku has nothing against fire quirk users using their fire to help out and all but he knew they had to go extremely slow and not blast entire portions of snow as well since they could send someone into shock due to an extreme change in body temperature Otherwise, there was really no point of people using fire quirks at an avalanche even though it seemed that a fire quirk would be perfect for a snow situation. But sadly, in the end while Izuku, Ozy, and Zahra were near the top of the mountain helping find people that had gone missing, an idiot with a fire quirk thought it would be best to blast an entire section of snow that was hiding someone's since Izuku pointed it out to other rescues that were a bit closer but one fire idiot got a bit to heavy handed and caused another avalanche that ended up trapping Izuku, Ozy, and Zahara under the snow. Luckily, Ozy was fast enough to summon enough sand to construct an isolated pyramid around the three of them which stopped the sand from overtaking them and only covered them while they were inside of the sand pyramid.

However, as the three regained their senses from the chaos that just happened, they knew they would not be able to stay where they were forever due to the lack of fresh air they were not longer getting since they were under a lot of snow and sand as well. The biggest problem was the fact that there was no other energy sources that Izuku could say belonged to any other humans due to the low amount of energy. He was pretty sure it all belonged to the small amount of plant life that grew on these mountains like some trees but that meant they had no one near them to help them escape which was an issue. Izuku knew Ozy could maintain the sand that he had quickly brought out but the question was would they run out of air before they were found or would Ozy run out of energy trying to maintain the sand.

As such, they had a few options that were limited to either trying to escape themselves or staying where they were at in hopes of someone finding them. Of course, Izuku and the duo were not ones to rely on getting help from outside of their closes friends and family so they opted to break out of the snow themselves though they knew they would need to work extremely well together and with perfect timing to perform the task at hand otherwise they would end up trapped under the snow when Ozy let go of all of the sand above them. Zahra summoned some of her swords and made a point near the top of the sand while Ozy enclosed them in a sphere that kept close to the swords. The goal was to use the swords in a turning fashion to dig through the snow above them while Ozy would rotate the sand to force any snow that fell upon it off and allow them to keep moving upwards to follow the swords. If they got to far away from the swords then there was the risk of to much snow closing in on them which would stop the rotating of the sand and forcing them to stay under the snow since they were about 10 feet under the snow which isn't a large amount but still deadly if they are trapped under it. As such, they went slow and took their time and after about 10 minutes of working through the snow they were able to escape and come out on top. As they reached the top, they all took a breath of fresh air in as they looked around to see where they were at and how far away they were from their original position and as it turns out they were about an entire 2 miles off from their original spot on the mountain due to the force of the snow pushing them downwards. They decided they would push forward and search the top one more time before heading back down to ensure they got any survivors because they knew Izuku's services would be needed even more at the bottom depending on how much damage was caused by the second avalanche that the fire user caused.
