"Hey, Specs?"

"What?" Logan asked. Remus blinked and angled his body away from Logan so he couldn't get hit.

"I'm not gonna be mean, I just want to ask something." Remus said. Logan rolled his eyes. "So, kleptomania is basically from neglect, right?"

"Mhm." Logan said, tapping his fingers on the desk restlessly. "Honestly, why do you care about this when your brother is outside somewhere, taking the fall for my mistake?" He asked. "You should be fuming."

Remus shrugged. "I am." He thought. "Just trying to distract myself." He sighed. "What d'you think they're doing to him?" He asked, a fearful tone in his voice that hadn't been there before.

"Probably nothing that can show." Virgil said.

"That's not Freddie's style." Remus said. Virgil shrugged.

"Yeah, but it's Daniel's." He said.

"Daniel doesn't beat people up." Janus said. "He lets Freddie do that for him."

"Has Daniel ever personally beaten you up?" Virgil asked. Janus shook his head. "Then you haven't pissed him off enough. And believe me, you don't want to."

Now, this sounded interesting. "Okay." Remus said. "What'd you do?"

"Same thing Roman did." Virgil said. "Tried to blame Daniel for something to get my friend out of trouble. Couldn't move my wrist for a week."

"Oh God." Remus said. He hugged his knees to his chest. "Poor Ro." He looked at Logan. "This is all your fault, Specs."

Logan nodded. "I know." He said.

"Hey Remus, it's going to be okay." Janus said. Remus noticed the loss of his nickname, whether Janus had meant for him to or not.

"Yeah, how do you know that?" Remus asked.  "I know Ro better than everyone here. He can roll with the punches but he doesn't know when to stop. He's not gonna give up til they either get him unconscious or-" Remus looked up at Virgil, who was straining his neck to see the doors.

Roman was back.

"Ro!" Remus cried, grinning and jumping off his desk. Before Roman could get a word in, Remus was by his side and hugging him tightly.

"You're alright!" Remus said excitedly. Roman laughed a little.

"Yeah, I'm fine." He said. "Now, get off."

"No." Remus said, hugging Roman tighter.

"Get off, Re." Roman whined, dragging out the seconds word. Remus sighed and let go of his brother.

"Fine." Remus said with a roll of his eyes.

"What did they do to you?" Virgil asked.

"Do to me?" Roman asked. Virgil nodded.

"What did they do to you?" Virgil repeated.

"They didn't do anything to me." Roman said, pulling on the sleeve of his jacket. Remus looked at Roman but Roman wasn't looking at him.

"Ro?" Remus asked quietly. "Are you lying?"

"No." Roman said, pulling on his sleeve again.

"Yeah, you are." Remus said. He reached out to point at Roman's sleeve but Roman flinched his arms away. Now Remus was just more worried. "You always pull on your sleeves when you lie."

"Re, I have no clue what you're talking about." Roman said, giving his sleeve another pull. "Anyway, good news, Sunshine, I found your headphones."

"What did you just call me?" Virgil asked.

"Sunshine." Roman said. Virgil laughed once.

"No." He said.

"Roman." Remus said. "Give me your arm."

"No." Roman said. He went back to his conversation with Virgil. "It makes sense."

"How on Earth does that make sense?" Virgil asked.

"Well, your last name's Summers and- Re, hey, Re, what are you doing?!" Roman yelled.

"You're lying to me and I'm gonna damn find out why." Remus snapped.

"Remus, you're going to tear my jacket!" Roman snapped, shaking Remus off. He pushed his brother. "Leave me alone."

"Then tell me why you're lying and what you're hiding." Remus said.

"I'm trying to help you, Ro." He thought. "I'm trying to protect you." Remus knew he wasn't doing a very good job but what else could he do?

Roman rolled his eyes. "I'm 'lying' because I don't want you to get hurt and I'm not hiding anything." Another pull on the jacket sleeve. Remus looked Roman in the eyes but Roman looked away.

"Ro," Remus said quietly, "stop lying to me."

Oooh, the drama.
