KANE

It was pretty safe to say that I was not expecting to witness what I did. I recognized her by her long black hair that swayed as she walked. I recognized him by the arrogance in the air around him and his airheaded cronies.

It almost happened in slow motion. She was alone, walking to the class the three of us shared. When he caught up with her, his hand landed on her butt. When she froze, he squeezed.

Even my steps faltered. She spun around, her hand swinging at his face. But he caught it and pushed her up against the wall.

"What the hell do you think you're doing?" She hissed.

"I've been thinking of you." He said huskily. I wanted to move, but my feet were frozen.

She tried to push against his chest but he just pressed himself closer to her.

"How long are you going to play hard to get?"

I noticed his friends begin to walk away. The corridor was empty now. Everyone had gone to class. It was just the three of us, and neither noticed me.

I watched as he pressed his hips against her and her expression turned from anger to disgust.

"This is what you do to me." He said, his lips near her ear now. She closed her eyes tightly.

I'd had enough.

Walking to them I called her name. Both of them whipped their heads to look at me. Embarrassment flashed across Sage's face. Embarrassment and relief.

"We're late for class," I said.

"She's busy," Eric growled.

"Yes. She is. She has class." I reminded him. My fists clenched. They were shaking.

Don't get into a fight. Don't get into a fight.

He had separated himself from her now, but one hand gripped tight to her forearm.

I walked to them. I put my hand on her shoulder and steered her forward.

Eric didn't let go of her hand.

"Don't tell me you know nothing of consent. Even you can't be that stupid." I told him.

Immediately his hand dropped. I pulled her to my other side, farther away from him and gave her a nudge to start walking.

I stopped and turned to Eric. He looked pissed.

"Put your hands on her again. I'll end you." I promised and pulled Sage with me to class.

We reached just in time. We both took our respective seats. Hers diagonally in front of mine. I couldn't concentrate. Both of our hands were shaking. Hers from fear possibly. Although I didn't see it on her face once during the episode. Mine in rage. My fists were still tightly clenched. Murderous rage welled inside me. I should have pummeled him. I wanted to. But I knew I had to stay away from it. Stay away from violence.

I had to find other ways to diffuse situations. But I wasn't lying. If he ever laid his hands on her again. I would end him.

I looked at her. She was staring outside. I didn't know what she was feeling.

I shouldn't concern myself with it. I had helped her out of the situation. My job was done. But I couldn't help glance at her. Wondering how she was really doing. I was sure he wouldn't have gone much further in the corridor, but still, it didn't change the fact that she must have felt helpless.
