"You look like someone stole your barbie doll." My brother, Cole said walking into my room.

I was currently laying on my bed with my arm over my eyes.

I groaned and turned away from him. I felt him lay next to me, facing the ceiling.

"Leave me alone," I grumbled.

"Not until you tell me what's got you steaming from the ears.

"People," I said, not specifying which people. Or rather, which person.

"Is someone giving you shit?" I heard the ice in Cole's voice and sighed. I pulled myself up so I was leaning against the headboard and he did the same.

"Someone is always giving me shit. It's nothing I can't handle." I explained. "There's this girl..." I saw him perk up immediately.

"A girl you're not sleeping with?" He asked, his blue eyes shining. I glared at him.

"Why are you saying it like that?" I demanded and he laughed.

"The only girls I know you associate with are girls you're planning to get into your bed. This is the first one you're actually talking about though. Did she reject you?"

I hated that, that description sounded a lot like Eric. Except I could take no for an answer and I never made the first move.

"No one is sleeping with anyone or even trying to in this scenario," I explained.

"She sounds special." He said.

"She's not," I assured him. "She just won't leave me alone. She seems to be everywhere I am. I may have helped her out a few times and now she wants to be friends."

"What's wrong with that? Is there a reason you don't want to be friends with her?" He asked, thoughtfully.

"Drama seems to follow her wherever she goes. There's a lot of attention on her. I mean, it's not like she tries but it seems to stick to her. And I don't know if I want to be around that."

"How is she? As a person?" He asked.

"I mean, she's nice. Happy, kind...annoying." I said, frowning as I remembered her grinning as I drove past her today.

"Why ever would you want to be friends with someone who's kind and happy?" Cole said, his voice dripping with sarcasm and I elbowed him.

He laughed.

I proceeded to tell him whatever had happened so far.

"Look, she sounds nice enough. If you tell her that you don't want to draw more attention to yourself than you already do and that's the reason you can't be friends with her, I'm sure she'll understand."

I imagined telling her. She would probably look like some kicked puppy. She cried so easily too.

I didn't notice when he got off the bed and moved to the window.

"There's a really cute girl that lives next door. Have you tried getting into her pants yet?"

I was out of bed in a flash. I looked out of the window and saw her outside her house on the lawn. She had a yoga mat near her. I gulped as I saw what she was wearing. A sports bra and short workout shorts. She had her long black hair tied in a high ponytail and her skin was slick with sweat.
