It's update time!

Hope everyone is well and happy. I don't really have much to say today. This chapter has been in the works for a few days. Just thought I would take a break from work and finish it.

Should I recommend a song? Let me go through my playlist and see.

Oooh Jax has a really cute song called Like My Father. Gives me smiles.

Enjoy the chapter!

KANE

It was Gina that walked in first.

She came towards my bed with tears in her eyes. Grabbing my hand she stifled her sobs, choking out, "what happened to you? How do you have a broken rib?"

"Cracked." I corrected and she sent me a sharp look.

"Cole said it was Eric." There was some hesitation in her voice. It must have been scary to think this was more than a bullying case.

"Yeah." I answered. "Him and his goons."

"You've got a fractured rib." Her voice shook and I reached out to hold her hand.

"It's one measly rib. I still have eleven more." I joked and she grimaced.

"Sage and Matt are with the police giving their accounts. I went first. Your family is with the doctor."

"I'm sorry to have to put you through this. I honestly never intended for this."

Gina squeezed my hand, "I don't think you're the one that needs to apologise. We all know how Eric is."

I relaxed somewhat, her words soothing me.

She fluffed my pillows. "Do you need anything?"

"You guys are pampering me. I almost don't want to get better."

She grinned. "The three of us will come and take turns to fluff your pillows every night even after you get better. So don't worry."

Sage, Matt and Dom walked in then. Matt rushed over and threw his arms around me. I winced and he apologized.

"My poor baby." He wailed dramatically.

I looked over his shoulder at Sage. She watched me carefully. Her expression was unusually stoic. The worry and fear that I expected to see was not there. But I knew something was going on with her.

My eyes moved to Dom. He winced at the sight of me.

"You look really bad." He commented.

"Thanks." I said sarcastically and laughed.
