Elara's POV


What's taking him so long? I am waiting here for almost 30 minutes yet he is not here. His last message is he is on his way here. Did something bad happen or something came up? At least update me.

A car parked in front of me then the window opened. It showed Chan who is currently smiling. He is wearing a white shirt that shows his fit body. Gosh. How can I get mad? He looks hot.

"I'm sorry. Am I late?" Chan

"You are but forgiven since you are hot"

Chan smirked and nodded. He got out of the car and hugged me as he kissed my forehead. He then held my hand and pulled me to the other side. He opened the door for me and I got in. He also got in and drove the car to the publishing company.

We agreed to meet today since he has family gathering yesterday and didn't have the chance to visit me. He will also drive me to the company and will meet Hyunjin for something.

"What time are you going to finish? I can excuse you-" Chan

"Excuse me? Are we in school? I'll just finish some work then I'll call you after"

Chan nodded at me and smiled "So, my friend and your friend are getting along? What's the catch?"

"I am going to kill your friend if ever Aika got hurt. I swear. I don't care if he is my boss or your fucking best friend. I swear I will kill him if ever he hurt Aika"

"Okay, calm down. I know he won't hurt her. If there is someone who will be hurt here, it's Trixie. I am sure that Hyunjin will choose Aika over and over again no matter what the situation is" Chan

I just shook my head. We arrived at the company. We both got in the elevator and two girls got in at the same time. They keep checking on Chan and gossiping.

What am I supposed to? Fight with them? Oh, come on. I would never-

Chan held my waist "I forgot to tell you. You look good today" he chuckled

I froze but finally came to reality after a few seconds. I glanced at the two girls and they both finally looked away. Gosh. I didn't expect for Chan to do that kind of thing. I mean I call us fuck buddies but here he is, lowkey flexing me.

I got off on the floor I am supposed to go while Chan waved at me as the door closes. I can still feel his hand on my waist. Like what the fuck? Did he just showed those two girls that I own him?

I looked at my workspace and didn't saw my best officemate which is Aika. I saw her bag there and her computer is already open. I wonder where did she go? What happened to the offer from the mental hospital?

"She still has the guts to come here after what she has done?" a voice behind me whispered

"I know. I wonder what our boss is telling her now" another voice whispered

I looked behind "Who are you two talking about?"

"Aika Moon, she sold all the books to the other publishing company except for her book. There is also a rumor that she has a lot of money after doing such thing" the woman said

"Sir Hyunjin is having a problem for what to release aside from her book. She was also called upstairs" another woman said

"Where did she get the guts?" first woman

"I know, right? She is such a bitch and a gold digger-" second woman

I slapped her face "Who are you to say that? Did you saw her selling the books?! Did you saw her?!"

"What's wrong with you?!" she shouted

"You are the bitch one here! Do you know that everyone here hates to work with you?! Do you wanna know why?! Because you are new yet you are acting like you are someone who will get promoted soon! Bitch!"

"How dare you?! Your friend is a stealer! You are a fucking bitch! You two deserve to be in trash!" she shouted

I pulled her hair as hard as I can and dragged her out of her sit that made her fall to the floor "I dare you to fucking say it again! Don't you ever badmouth Aika or I will peel off your skin!"

"Elara, stop!" our manager said and tried to remove my hand

I didn't let him do it and just pulled the woman's hair as hard as I can "Fuck you for badmouthing her! I don't care if you talk behind my back but don't you ever talk behind Aika's back! You should make sure I won't hear you because if I did, you are a one lucky bitch"

"Elara!" Aika shouted and behind her is Chan and Hyunjin "Let go"

Chan went to me and made me let go of the girl's hair "Calm down, this is not good. They will suspect Aika even more"

"I can't let anyone badmouth her"

"I know but I need you to calm down, okay? Listen to me" Chan

I looked away.

"What happened? Are you okay?" Aika asked as he tried to check on me

I nodded "How about you? Are you okay? Everyone is talking bad about you"

She smiled "That's fine. I have you and I know you believe in me"
