"Tommy, no!"
Several shouts were heard as the arrow landed in his shoulder with a thud, before the boy collapsed, toppling over into the dark water below.
Almost instantly somebody dove in after; a splash of water, the only thing still visible as the two figures fully submerged.
Eris couldn't help but jump forward, screaming frantically for her friend, trying to get somebody's attention, somebody's help. But her strained words were left unheard in the commotion.
Two hands wrapped around her arms as she was pulled back from the scene down below, tears started to fall from her eyes as she kept screaming for her younger brother, trying to rid herself of the hands.
But the hands didn't budge as she was pulled back even more until she couldn't see the valley anymore. She turned to George, pushing against his arms, "Let me go!"
The brunet swallowed before shaking his head.
"George!" Eris screamed, trying to find reason in the slightly taller brunet in front of her, "Tommy's hurt! I have to save him!"
George grimaced as Eris started to scratch his hands, but still, he stayed put.
Sobs left Eris' throat in frantic waves as she pulled and thrashed, crying out for Tommy. Because how could he survive such a thing like this?
Suddenly the hands let go and instead arms were wrapped around her shoulders. Eris flinched and pushed against the hold even more as she shouted and cried, but soon she found herself leaning against the chest of the man that trapped her in his arms, holding onto his shirt in a subconscious instinct.
George let Eris cry as he looked over her shoulder every so often to see the sight down below, while also listening to any sounds that could be heard from around them.
Eventually Eris leaned back and George gave her the space to do so, instead she let herself sit down on the ground in exhaustion, her emotions overwhelming her.
Tommy, young bright Tommy, loveable loudmouthed Tommy, she was going to lose him. She has already lost him. She couldn't bear to even look over the edge any more, dreading the sight more than life itself. Instead, she pulled her legs up and wrapped her arms around her knees, leaning her forehead on top of it.
Rocking herself back and forth slightly, she tried to disconnect herself from the world, desperately trying to get away from her thoughts and feelings, because she was the reason Tommy had found himself in this situation, and she didn't even try to help him.
An arrow to the shoulder is something you could rarely survive; it was a miracle that Tubbo had seemingly turned out fine. Eris doubted that such a thing would happen again, the chances were simply too small.
The sounds of hooves colliding with the forest floor pulled Eris back to reality like an anchor would to a ship.
She lifted her head and came to face the masked man and his accomplice. In an instant, the brunette rose to her feet as he slowed his horse before jumping down.
"You motherfucker!" Eris shouted, making her way over to her as her cheeks were still wet and her throat tightened, "You murderer!"
Dream looked visibly stunned, his horse's rein still in hand before Eris shoved him to the side harshly with her shoulder, as her hands were still bound. The push was pathetically weak, but the masked man's absent state made him let himself falter to the side, before catching himself with an extra cautious step.
