After another long period of traveling, Katara, Sokka, and Aang set up camp beside a river. Spotting a fish, Sokka eagerly grabbed his fishing pole.

SOKKA: You are SO going to be dinner! ... Hey, where's the fishing line?

AANG: Oh, I didn't think you would need it, Sokka.

Aang had taken Sokka's fishing line and woven it into an intricate necklace decorated with a red flower.

AANG: I made you a necklace, Katara. I thought since you lost your other one—

KATARA: Thanks, Aang. I love it.

SOKKA: (Sarcastically) Great, Aang. Maybe instead of saving the world, you can go into the jewelry-making business.

AANG: I don't see why I can't do both.

Sokka struggled to catch his fish, while Katara tried on the necklace.

KATARA: So, how do I look?

Aang turned to face her—and blushed. It seemed to him that she was more beautiful than ever wearing his gift.

AANG: (Shyly) You mean all of you or just your neck? I mean, because they both look great!

SOKKA: Smoochie, smoochie, someone's in loooove!

AANG: (Embarrassed) I... well...

KATARA: (Annoyed) Stop teasing him, Sokka. Aang's just a good friend. A sweet little guy, just like Momo!

AANG: (Dismayed) Thanks.

As Aang sighed with disappointment, the children spotted a platypus bear attacking an old man on the road ahead of them! They rushed to his rescue, confronting the beast head-on. When Appa joined in the fight, the platypus bear was terrified, and fled. The three of them were surprised to discover that the old man had not been frightened by the platypus bear at all. In fact, he was quite calm about the whole thing. When they asked him why, he explained.

OLD MAN: Everything was already under control. Not to worry. Aunt Wu predicted I'd have a safe journey.

AANG: Aunt who?

OLD MAN: No, Aunt Wu. She's the fortuneteller from my village. Awful nice knowing your future.

KATARA: Wow, it must be. That explains why you were so calm!

SOKKA: But the fortuneteller was wrong! You didn't have a safe journey, you were almost killed!

OLD MAN: But I wasn't! All right, have a good one!

Before leaving, the calm old man handed Aang a wrapped parcel containing a long, thin object.

OLD MAN: Oh, and Aunt Wu said if I met any travelers, to give them this. (Leaves)

KATARA: (Excitedly) Maybe we should go see Aunt Wu and learn our fortunes. It could be fun.

SOKKA: Oh, come on. Fortune telling is nonsense!

As Katara and Sokka argued, Aang opened the mysterious parcel.

AANG: What do you know? An umbrella!

All at once, it began to rain! Katara and Aang both ducked under the umbrella, but Sokka did not.

KATARA: That proves it!
