Dinner was as good as always, especially the part where you tried to fit everyone at a table made for 6. Hatori was able to make it to dinner this time too, usually he is working but since he is getting ready to retire he has been at work less. Which means there was a total of 11 people squeezing together.

And you were right about Kaminari not needing extra snacks that night because Mayuko seemed to make enough to feed an army squad, plus dessert.

After everyone was thoroughly stuffed, they went their separate ways. Some opting to get some sleep early for the flight, others trying to stay up as long as possible to sleep on the flight instead. Either way the jet lag would be questionable.

The next morning everyone was up and at 'em by 5 in the morning. The flight was meant to board at 7:45, so taking into account the drive and getting through security, 5 a.m. wasn't too far fetched.

And by 5:30 you and everyone in the house was ready to leave.

"Okay, there are 11 of us, which means 2 cars and one on somebody's lap. Because both of Hitoshi's parents have to take us so they can bring the cars back here." You announced when everyone was standing with their luggage in the driveway.

"(Y/N) and I are gonna be in separate cars since we have known my parents for more than 24 hours. So who will volunteer to be a seat for who?" Hitoshi joined in on your announcement.

"I can sit on Momo's lap, that's fine." In her tired state Kyoka answered you. She was one of the people to try and stay up as long as possible, which for her meant she hasn't actually slept yet.

"Okay now that's settled, let's move it people, we have T-2 hours till boarding. Let's go!"

The drive wasn't that long, only about 30 minutes. After getting there you and your friends said goodbye to the parents and went through the normal procedure for international flying. Once getting to your gate there was about 30 minutes until it boarded.

Some went to the bathroom, got snacks, or just stayed by the gate. All waiting for the woman at the front to start calling seat numbers.

And when she finally did, your group was one of the firsts to get their seats called. Since it was going overseas the seats were in pairs over three columns.

The couples sat together which left Hanta, Denki, and Ashido. And though they technically had designated seats, they were arguing about who would be left alone.

Until the person sitting in the seat next to the singular one you guys booked showed up. Ashido noticed quickly what happened and stopped the arguing right there.

"Fine, you guys can sit next to each other. I'll be the odd man out, it's fine." It should have sounded nonchalant but in reality was hastened and pushy.

Next to her was a tall, black haired, Asian guy around your age, maybe a little older. He seemed athletic and very much one of her types.

She was sitting in the seat behind and diagonal to you, and when she finally caught your staring you just gave her a smile and nod. Pushing her to talk to him.

"You think she is actually going to try and get to know him?"

"Even if she doesn't try, it's a free chance to casually fall asleep on him." You leaned on his shoulder. "Now, I'm going to at least try and sleep too."

————

Hours in, you realized you had actually fallen asleep but when you woke up Hitoshi was awake still.

"Have you slept at all yet, have you?"

"A little bit, maybe an hour. But given the fact that we have been in the air for like 5 hours, the ratio isn't the best." He answered sluggishly.

"Okay we'll it's your turn to rest, use me as a pillow."

"Fine, but if the stewardess with the cart comes by, get a black coffee for me." He leaned on the top of your head, his hoodie between you acting as a pillow.

You definitely weren't going to get him something that would keep him awake. But instead of telling him no you simply nodded.

He fell asleep pretty quickly and you actually joined after him. Both of you had been apart of the few trying to stay up as long as possible before leaving, so you were undoubtedly tired.

The next few hours were spent sleeping, eating and talking. Until it was finally time to land, when you both really woke up and looked out the window.

It was sunset over the Pacific Ocean off the California coast.

Okay so I tried to figure out the logistics of how the time zones bf shit would work flying from Okinawa to California but that was just too confusing. So just don't think about it to much, that's what I'm trying to tell myself.
