Jade yawned. Geez! She hadn't had such a good sleep in ages! I mean she had just fallen asleep....after the....fire. Wait the fire?! Jade sat up straight, she wasn't in the sanctuary! Where was she? She looked around. She was in a room. A real room. It was not well decorated, but it had a stone slab in one corner next to the only window. On the other side of the bed, there was a desk covered in drawings of various dragons. Outside, Jade could hear the shouting. Climbing out of the sheets, and wincing with pain, she crept over to the door and put her ear on the wood.
"Seriously! I mean seriously! Were you nuts?! You could have killed her and all of her dragons!"
It was a boy's voice, Jade was sure of that.
"Well excuse me if I wanted to save your sorry life!"
This was a girl's voice.
"By trying to roast me alive?! Seriously Astrid! Actually use that big brain of yours!"
So Astrid was the girl, eh? Well, Jade had some not-so-nice things to say to her!
"I did use it! The dragons were hostages!" Astrid shouted.
"Forget it!" The boy yelled back. He started climbing the stairs and...
'Bang!' The door flew open and Jade fell back onto her rear. "Ow..."
"Oh my gosh! I am so sorry! I had no idea you were even there!" The boy apologized, extending his hand.
"That's kind of the point," Jade muttered, accepting his hand.
The boy rubbed the back of his neck awkwardly. "Yeah, so I'm Hiccup." Jade nodded. "What is it with you and Eret?" Hiccup ventured.
Jade scowled, "Dragon Trappers."
"Oh..." Hiccup said. "Yeah we're not huge fans of them here either."
"Then why is he here?" Jade inquired.
"He... Changed."
"Ha! If only they could."
"No really! Come on!" Hiccup pulled Jade to the window where she saw dragons all over. They were hopping on the humans, hovering over houses, and just generally being... well... dragons.

(Hiccup's POV)
She was happy, I could tell. They're is something about her that draws me toward her. It's not love, it's more like... Fate. Oh, now I sound like Gothi! Talking about Fate like it's real! Still... I can't shake this funny feeling that I have...

(Third Person)

Jade smiled. Boy, it was pleasing to see humans and dragons living peacefully together. She turned to Hiccup, "Thank you. For showing me this." He grinned. "So." Jade said. "Sorry about the whole...prisoner thing." Hiccup shrugged. "You don't talk much do you?" Hiccup laughed. Just then the door flew open, and Astrid walked in. She scowled.
"You're needed downstairs," she growled. Hiccup and Jade shrugged and walked down the stairs together. Halfway down, Jade groaned and nearly fell down in pain. Hiccup supported her.
"You okay?" He asked in concern. Jade nodded and the continued down. When they got down to the first floor, Hiccup grinned. "Hi mom!" He said to the woman.
"Hello Hiccup." Her eyes narrowed. "Hello Jade."
Jade froze. "You!"
