*TW: drinking*

Sapnap ended up proposing to Karl the very same day that he got the ring. It was easy enough to tell because later that night, George's phone started ringing, and when he picked it up, Dream could hear Karl's excited voice immediately flooding through.

George had put the phone on speaker so they could both congratulate them, and Karl rambled on about the proposal and how surprised he was. Dream felt incredibly happy for them, and excited to be engaged at the same time as his best friends.

He listened to George and Karl go on about wedding planning for a while, smiling as he watched George's whole face light up at the prospect of planning their weddings together. He loved to see that look on the brunette's face, and it made him feel that much happier to know it was because of their upcoming wedding.

As George was hanging up his phone, Dream's phone buzzed with a text message from Quackity. But his excitement faded quickly, eyebrows knitting together as he read the text with a sigh.

"What is it?" George asked, nuzzling into his side.

Dream moved the phone so the brunette could see the text, which detailed yet another party to celebrate the engagement. As soon as George read it, he exhaled a quiet, "oh."

Dream only nodded, placing his phone back down on the table and then leaning back against the couch. He let his eyes drop for a moment as he thought it over, knowing that this party carried more significance since it was for two of their best friends. He didn't think he could handle another party so soon, but he couldn't ask George to not go.

He felt George's arm wrap around his own, brown eyes flickering up towards him as the brunette quietly said, "we don't have to go, Dream. In fact, I don't think we should go, not after what happened at the last party. I'm sure Sapnap and Karl will understand."

Dream shook his head, feelings of guilt swirling around in his mind as he responded, "I don't think I should go, George, but I think you should. There's no reason for you not to. And I know Sapnap and Karl would understand, but they'd be a lot happier if one of us were there."

Dream finally met George's gaze, and he caught the hopeful expression that quickly flashed across his face as he asked, "really? You're sure you wouldn't mind? Because if you want me to stay home with you, I will."

"It's okay, George," Dream answered with a soft smile, "if you wanna go, then you should go. I'll be fine."

George's face lit up into a smile at the words, and although Dream wanted to be equally as excited, he just wasn't. Because it wasn't himself that he was worried about, it was the idea of George going to the party alone and without the blonde there to look out for him. The two were rarely ever separated like this, and if anyone knew how crazy some of those parties could get, it was Dream.

And another thing that kept creeping into the back of his mind was Fundy. It had been so easy for him to get to Dream at the last party, so easy for him to isolate the blonde in one of the back rooms.

But he trusted George's judgement, and he knew that his friends wouldn't let Fundy anywhere near the party if they had any say in the matter. And he would just have to keep reminding himself of that while he sat at home by himself.

The party happened a few days after the engagement, and Dream was still on edge about the whole thing. But George had been so excited that he couldn't bring himself to tell the brunette how he was really feeling.

He could only watch as George tried on multiple outfits, and listen as he chattered on excitedly about the party. And then finally, George was standing in front of him, all dressed up and ready to go, a smile plastered onto his face.
