"I'm here."

The first message that popped out my phone as soon as the aircraft touched the precious land of Bangkok, Thailand. I smiled at the thought that Lalisa really took so much effort to travel far just to fetch me and my mom — and yes, I am now in Thailand too.

"Is she already there?" mom asked when she noticed me typing on my phone.

"Uh-huh," I nodded, "but probably hiding somewhere," I giggled.

"Right, you guys must be professionals in that aspect too," mom beamed at me, "she must be really hungry and tired, poor little girl."

"I know, I feel bad too."

I felt guilty of the fact that she had to stress-out herself just to get here. I mean, she didn't have to and I really didn't want to bother her on her vacation. But I had no choice, it's part of the deal I made with the management.

"Did you guys plan this together?" mom asked while putting on some blush on her cheek.

"Nope and she does not have even an inch of idea that we'd be coming til last night," I took a deep sigh then faced my mom with a sad face.

"What? Are you serious??? What about her parents???"

Judging by my mom's facial reaction, you can really tell that the news came out as bomshell. I giggled at the same time shaking my head, cause all I ever wanted was to give my babies some quality time to spend with their loved-ones.

"She told them last night too and luckily, they were so excited and prepared a feast for us, perks of having chef parents."

Never in my wildest dream have I ever imagined meeting Lisa's parents. Like duh? Lisa's parents? Plus imagine them preparing thai meals for us? What an honor and pleasure. I'm pretty much stirred to eat authentic thai foods and of course — visiting the place where Lisa grew up.

"Jen, did you know that Bangkok is called City of Angels?"

My mom and her fun facts momemtum, she used to do this all the time, especially when I was little. Like, she would randomly give me facts or bits of knowledge about certain things in the most random places and time. I love my mom, she's the best!

"No wonder Lisa lives here cause she's an angel that's sent from above," I whispered to myself absentmindedly.

"What?" mom asked which made me startle to death.

"Huh? Did I say something?" I asked, pretending to act chill.

"Yup, I only heard the word angel."

"Yeah, I said that cause I was typing it on google to check if it's a fact or a bluff," I grinned at her.

"No way, you little girl! Since when did I bluff about my "did you knows," my mom naughtily smirking at me before pinching both my cheeks.

"I'm kidding mommy!"

I hugged her, and ooppss.. that was close! Fortunately, she didn't hear the whole thing. Mom and I are now at the airport, I can hear people speaking thai, oh god, I love it. I was really trying my best to blend in, telling myself to act like a thai too, pretending as if I'm one of the locals.

"Sah wah dee kah," I said to the lady before handing my passport, feeling proud of myself cause I know how to say hello in thai. (Lisa taught me, though)

"Kop khun kah," I bowed after receiving back my passport, being in character of the fact that I'm one of the locals. Lol.

I didn't want to be seen, I wanted it to be lowkey but.. still, I've been spotted. I got nothing else to blame but these two fluffy cheeks! No matter how hard I try to hide them, they still have their own weird ways of revealing themselves to the public.
