after we ate we went back to the skatepark for a little bit then realised we were going to throw up so we decided to head back to mine. We watched a movie and a few more episodes of Freaks and Geeks and then started getting ready for the party. I was really excited because it was my first 'college party'. I've been to parties in Australia before obviously but generally, we just go clubbing, they're not as big of a deal as they are in the US. if I had to guess why I'd say it's because of the drinking ages in each country.
I decided on wearing a black tennis skirt with a black bralette, fishnet top and fishnet stockings, a corset-style belt plus some other accessories including a garter on my thigh and silver necklaces. I really liked this outfit even if it was slightly more risque.
Vinnie went with the same black sweat pants he was wearing earlier except now he had a black t-shirt instead of a white one on. We walked down to his car and got in, following the navigation system to the party. twenty minutes later we arrived outside of a large, beige cloured frat house, music blaring and red cups all over the grass out the front. It was only ten past seven and the party started at seven so I was surprised at the number of people already piling into the house. The second we stepped into the house we were offered drinks, I took one but Vinnie turned it down. "I'm the sad drunk," he laughed at me.
I walked through the house, Vinnie following close behind, looking for luke. I wanted to find him because, after all, he is the person who invited me. after a few minutes of walking around I spotted him in the corner of a room with a few other guys. He saw me and waved, ushering me over. I walked up to him and gave him a quick hug, thanking him for inviting me. "Yeah, no problem, is this your boyfriend?" he said, referring to Vinnie and putting his hand out for that weird bro hug thing. "No, this is Vinnie-"I started. "Oh, chick magnet, I got ya," he laughed, causing Vinnie to laugh slightly.
I looked a little over to Lukes left and saw a guy with black hair, ripped skinny jeans and a My Chemical Romance shirt looking at me. He had tattoos covering his arms and neck and I bet they continued onto his torso. He was definitely my type but the way he was looking at me made me really uncomfortable, plus I like Vinnie.
I took a step back and sort of hid myself behind Vinnie's arm, he looked down at me giving me a concerned look but I ignored it. I think he could sense that I was uncomfortable but I wasn't going to say anything until we got away from him. Luke and I talked for a few minutes but then we parted ways and Vinnie and I walked into a different room. "You ok?" he asked. I found a couch that didn't have a couple making out on it and sat down, Vinnie following suit. "One of Luke's friends was looking at me funny, I don't know I might just be paranoid or something," I rambled. "No, if he made you feel uncomfortable we'll just stay away from him. I won't let him do anything," he said, making me feel safer. Ok, maybe he isn't the tallest or the bulkiest, he's no burgess brother that's for sure, but I knew that he was the type to go out of his way to make sure that his friends were safe. "Was he the guy in the My Chemical Romance shirt?" Vinnie asked. I nodded, "Yeah, he gave me a weird vibe too, just stay with me," He said, looking over towards me.
Half an hour went by and there was no sign of that guy from earlier which made me feel much better. I was letting loose more and just having fun. Vinnie and I joined beer pong except there was three of us on the team. Vinnie wasn't drinking, just throwing, I was drinking some and throwing but the third person on our team just joined to drink whatever we didn't want. It worked out well because I was definitely not going to drink both mine and Vinnies drinks.
I was going to drink tonight for sure, and I had, but I didn't want to drink enough to get me drunk, only enough to get me slightly tipsy, especially now with that guy lurking around here somewhere. Vinnie and I finished up a few rounds of beer pong and then we made our way onto the dance floor as Chase Atlantic blasted through the speakers. Everyone was grinding up on one another, whether they were dating or even knew each other not but I really don't think Vinnie and I were anywhere near that stage so we sort of just bounced around and danced in a less sexual way. A few more songs came on and we continued dancing. It was nice to see Vinnie really starting to let loose. I could see him starting to worry less and less about everything; about people recognising him, about work, about everything we can here to escape. Obviously, a few people have recognised him as the night has gone on but the majority of the ones who have come up to us have been too drunk to talk so it was just entertaining watching them star-struck and fumbling over their words. I think this night is really what he needed; an escape.
