Ran's POV...

I went over to the Higurashi house to have dinner with Aya and Higurashi-san. Aya said that he's cooking her favorite ramen. He rarely cooks her favorite ramen and if he does, oh my, it's really good. I said goodbye to my parents since we will be leaving from Aya's.

I could smell the food from just outside the door. I knocked once and Aya answered the door. "Dinner's almost ready," she said. I left my luggage by the door as well as my backpack. I followed her to dining room to help set up.

"Just sit," she said.

She went to the kitchen and she came out a minute later with a bowl of ramen. I can smell it and it smells so good. She set it down infront of me, I waited for her and her dad to join me. They both came out a couple of minutes later with their own bowl of ramen.

This ramen is just too good. It was a simple soy based ramen, shoyu, with chashu and egg, menma, some bean sprouts, and nori. The soup is so good. The umami, heavenly. No wonder this is Aya's favorite dish.

"Do you want some more?" Aya asked.

"Yes, please!" I eagerly answered.

Aya then took my bowl and got my second serving. "This is so good, Higurashi-san," I said. He just nodded.

I don't think Higurashi-san ever liked me. I'm not sure why. He likes Riri and Rui, but not me and it bothers me sometimes since Aya and I really close, especially now that we're together.

After dinner, I offered to help clean up. Higurashi-san said I can clean up the table and he will do the dishes. Aya went ahead and got her luggage from her room.

"Here you go Higurashi-san," I said, handing him the bowls.

"Thank you," he replied.

As I was leaving the kitchen...

"Can you make sure that she's well taken care of during your trip? She gets a little spontaneous sometimes when she's excited and can be a little reckless"

I turned around, "Of course, Higurashi-san, I won't let anything happen to Aya"

"I know, I just needed to say something. You're a great kid, Ran, and I'm glad it's you and not some other boy" he said, patting my shoulder, "have fun on your trip," he then went on and started the dishes.

Wow. He just called me by my first name and a pat on my shoulder. I guess he does like me. I just have to make sure that I don't lose his trust.

Higurashi-san drove us to Kyoto airport. Aya was basically jumping off the car seat and probably would've bounced out of the car if she wasn't wearing her seatbelt. Once we got there, she hugged her dad goodbye, he nodded at me and I nodded back. We waited for him to leave before heading inside.

"Let's go," I said. Aya held my free hand as we walked into the airport. We had our passports just in case it was needed. We went to the counter to check in our luggage and get our boarding pass.

"Here you go, sir, boarding passes to Okinawa" the attendant said, handing me the boarding passes.

"Wait... we're going to Okinawa?" Aya asked.

"Mhmm" I nodded

"Really?!"

"Yup"

I looked at her and gosh...  her smile is just so bright. "Come on, boarding is in about 45 minutes"

Once we got through security, she went and look fo snacks near our gate. She came back a few minutes later with her usual snack, no strawberry milk though.
