"SO YOU'RE TELLING me that Claudia's mum was killed by the same guy who turned you into a werewolf?" Sirius asked Remus as the four boys sat outside on Remus' porch.
"Yes."
"How do you know?"
"My dad keeps these old magazines where there are articles of Greyback's attacks," Remus shrugged. "I don't know why, I guess it's to make sure he leaves us alone or something. So we know that he's not nearby, or doing these things to other kids."
"And what does this mean exactly?" Peter asked.
"No idea," said Remus. "But I think I messed up."
"You think?" James asked nonchalantly.
"No, I know," said Remus with a sigh.
"How do you know, though?" Asked Peter dumbfoundly. "I mean, she could hate all werewolves if she hates one of them."
"That's true," Remus replied. "But she's not like that, not at all. And my mum said that she even mentioned her hatred for people who have prejudices against halfbreeds in a letter to her. And she did pretty much tell me that I was wrong for making that assumption."
"She's been writing to your mum?" James asked with a knowing look on his face, causing a small smile to creep up on Remus' lips as he nodded, despite him trying to avoid that happening.
"So, what're you going to do?" Sirius asked.
"No idea," the boy shrugged. "I guess I'll just have to wait...a month and a half...and then I'll just try to talk to her."
"She'll hate you," Sirius said.
"I know. But I promised that I wouldn't leave her, and I intend to keep that promise from now on even if she doesn't want me around."
"Why though?" Peter asked, causing James to glare at him. "I mean, if she doesn't want you around maybe it's better to just let her go?"
"I guess. But I love her, and the least I can do is keep my promise after already breaking it once," Remus responded. "I'll always be around if she needs me."
"What a poet," Sirius grinned, nudging the boy with his elbow, but since he received no laughter in response he quickly grew quiet again.
"I don't think you should wait that long," James then said after a few moments of silence. "You need to show her that you're there for her."
"And how will I do that?"
"Easy, send her a letter," said James. "Tell her that you're sorry, and that you won't leave her again."
