i imagine love to be
like learning how to swim
for the very first timeexciting yet terrifying
feeling yourself float
intrigued by the thought
that you're afloat
but fearing the thought
that you might drownand that makes you pray that your life guard stays beside you forever
at least until you learn how to swim
and so you swim endlessly because that's just how love is supposed to be
you just keep swimming like you know exactly where the ocean leads
i imagine love to be
like learning how to swim
for the very first timealthough it may be terrifying
it's worth the risk of drowningbut my feet are glued to the shore
when will i ever get over my philophobia?
