Dangerous Love

Chapter 4

It had been a week. A week since Davina last saw Nadia. A week since Davina first saw Eliot Hartley. A week since Lucas and her stayed up all night. A week of asking what they were going to do to get Nadia back.

Darcy had made a point that it was too dangerous for Davina to do anything for the mafia right now and to stay in the house. He had made Lucas and Davina shut their mouths about Eliot, they didn't even get an answer to why.

It was Friday morning when Davina decided to grace everyone with her presence in the dining room. There was Darcy, Lucas, Darcy's right hand man, Andreas and Nadia's parents, Sarah and Hayden. Sarah was blonde, like Nadia but had brown eyes but Hayden was brunette with blue eyes, also like Nadia. It had been a while since Davina had come out of her room apart from the times where she questioned Darcy about what they were going to do to get Nadia back. They looked at her and the room went silent.

"Hey Davina, egg and bacon? I made it myself." Andreas spoke in a Spanish accent.

"I better not then. Don't want to get food poisoning." Davina joked.

Everyone laughed except Andreas who put the middle finger up at her. She sat next to Hayden who was next to Sarah. She looked up and smiled comforting at them. Who knows how hard it is for them. When Davina first came here she was only 14 and very fragile and without them, Davina wouldn't be the woman she is today.

"Actually, since you're all here. I got a letter today, with an address, a time and a picture of Nadia." Darcy spoke as he threw the picture on the table. It was her tied up... bleeding and bruised. We all gasped and Davina forced herself not to look a second longer.

"You have to go, Darcy. Maybe if you go they'll give my girl back." Sarah cried as tears fall down her face at the sight of her daughter injured like that.

"I'll have to disagree. It's definitely a trap." Andreas spoke up.

"Well it's not your daughter who's being held hostage is it?" Hayden argued. Lucas and Davina locked eyes and she could see the distress in them.

"I've decided to go. It's my fault she's there. I want Lucas and Andreas to come with me." Darcy announced. Davina was taken back. Why not her?

"Excuse me but I'm going too." Davina spoke. She knew that Sarah was fragile at her age and her specialty was computer stuff, just like Nadia. Hayden stayed silent happy that Darcy was going anyways.

"No you're not. It's too dangerous for you." Darcy argued.

"I'd be in as much danger as you guys. Or is it because I'm a girl?"

"No it's not that... fine. You can come, but if anything happens I don't know what I'll do." Darcy gave in. Davina smiled, walked over to him and gave a kiss on the cheek.

"Thank you." She said.

"We will be leaving tonight so get prepared." Darcy says. Davina sat back down next to Hayden and for a little while everyone sat eating and discussing the plan. Lucas and Davina decided to separate from the group and traveled to Davinas room. Lucas sat on her bed after he opened the curtains while making fun of her for acting like a vampire. Davina searches her draws for clothes to wear tonight.

"Do you think I should wear all black or add a little colour?" She asks.

"Why do I care? I don't know, maybe you should dress sexy so you can distract them." Lucas laughs.

"Please I couldn't even if I tried." Davina laughs back, looking at the clothes in the draw she decides to go black pants with a grey shirt. Not wanting to stand out that much.

"You totally could. Do you know how pretty you are?" Lucas asks smoothly. Davina blushes. Lucas always points out that she's pretty but she has no idea how to respond to it.

"Anyways, hopefully they bring Nadia. I really hope she's ok." Davina says, turning now to look at Lucas.

"She didn't look ok in the photo." He points out sadly. Davina quietly agrees. She hates them for doing that to her.

"I'm going to have a shower now so get out." Davina demands, smiling. Lucas puts his hands up as he exits the room. Davina grabs the clothes she'll be wearing and starts to head over to the bathroom. She turned a corner but as she did she bumped into someone. She looked up at the person and saw it was Sarah.

"Sorry, are you ok?" Davina asks while observing that the woman had been crying.

"I'll be ok when Davina comes back." Sarah whines. Davina pulls her mother figure into a hug as she bursts into tears again.

"You've always been there for me, Sarah. You always take care of everyone. It's time someone takes care of you. I wont stop until I get Nadia back to you, I swear." Davina declares.

"Please be careful, dear. I don't want to lose you too while your out there." Sarah pulls out of the hug and looks into Davinas green eyes.

"Of course... I love you." Davina says.

"I love you too. Now go and head on to whatever you were doing." Sarah says as she wipes a tear that had fallen from Davinas eye. The 2 women separate to do what they were going to do.

Davina finally reaches the bathroom and locks the door behind her. The bathroom had a light blue wall with white tiles. There was a big shower and a bath that were across from each other. Along with a toilet, sink and mirror. Davina observes  herself in the mirror. The scar standing out as always. Her curly hair was all over the place from lack of care for it. She better clean it up before going out tonight. Her hand reaches out and turns on the shower causing the hot water to steam up the room.
