The sun finally set after a long day of sitting in the room and doing nothing. Davina felt horribly. A little for Eliot but mainly for Charlie. She had to do something. Davina thought about what the worst thing was about being down in the cells. It was the lack of proper food. Davina had an idea. She would get food for Charlie and sneak down and give it to them. It wasn't much but she knew that to Charlie, it would mean a lot. Davina still remained wearing the black shirt Eliot gave to her.
She opened the door and noticed a few voices downstairs, hopefully they're not near the kitchen. Davina tip toed down the stairs, trying to make as little sound as she could. She made it into view with the kitchen and saw there was no one in there. It was passed dinner time so Davina would be surprised if there was. She walked in and decided to get Charlie an apple and make a sandwich. So she did, it wasn't a bad looking sandwich either. She grabbed the food and saw there was a few keys hanging next to the backyard door. There were people there though. Shit. Davina decided to wait them out. She could've sworn they were there for hours and hours but realistically it was 30 minutes.
Once she heard the footsteps drift away she grabbed all of the keys and stepped outside. Her feet made their way to the door that led down to the basement. She tried all the keys and none of them seemed to fit until the last one. It made a clicking sound and Davina opened the door. It was freezing. She wished she had a jumper but felt guilty as no one else down here had the luxury of proper clothes. Her feet felt like they were stepping on ice and they finally made their way to in front of Charlie's cell. They were asleep.
"Pssst. Charlie. Wake up." Davina whispered. Their eyes slowly opened and made contact with Davinas.
"What are you doing here?" They groaned and got up.
"I came to give you this." She shoved the food under the cell door. Charlie gasped and dropped to the ground to eat.
"You're too kind Davina." They mumbled during shoving the food down their throat. She should've gotten more. Davina sat down on the floor so she was more at level with Charlie. Once they were done they licked their fingers and pushed the apple core back under the cell door.
"Eliot, he's letting me stay in their house." Davina stated.
"Well... that's good. One of us had to get out of here." Charlie mumbled back with a sad tone.
"I really wished it had been you though." Davina said, Charlie looked into her green eyes.
"Nah, I'm used to it by now." They replied.
"But that's so sad. I promise I'll try and get you out. I'll do it, I swear." Davina promised.
"Yea right. Good luck with that, Eliot is not so kind when it comes to the rest of us down here." Charlie spoke in their southern accent. Davina looked at the ground. Ashamed that she had the privilege of getting out. "I've missed you over these past 2 days." They continued.
"I have too. The wedding was not so great either, I'd rather wished I stayed down here." Davina lied, trying to make them feel better.
"Yea right. But thanks for trying to make me feel better." Charlie laughed. Davina returned it.
"I'll come down here as much as I can, I swear." Davina promised.
"Please don't get caught. Speaking of, you should probably leave, before someone comes down here." Charlie said. They put their hand under the door and Davina held it with hers. They said goodbye and Davina, as quick as she could, traveled back to her room without getting caught.
What a baddie I am. Davina smirked. She laid down on her back on the bed and stared at the ceiling. She looked outside the window to find the fool moon. She wondered if Nadia, Lucas, Darcy, Andreas, Sarah or Hayden were looking at it too.
She missed them.
Her thoughts got interrupted by foot steps marching through the hallway, the seemed to stop in front of Davinas door. Only to continue walking. It seemed like there was nothing left to do but sleep. So she did.

It had been a week and a half since Davina first visited Charlie. She had been going down there every night as she promised, with food. She had done this without anyone noticing. Of course she heard murmurs from the people down stairs about missing food but she didn't care. Davinas received and sent letters from Alice, it seemed Davina had a blast at the wedding. It sucked she couldn't remember it.
There had been very minimal interaction with Eliot, consisting of Davina shoving him off. She had to act like she didn't care. Which she doesn't...
One night when coming back from seeing Charlie she spotted a phone on the kitchen bench. An idea popped into her head. No one will notice, she'll put it back once she's done, of course. Davina picked up the phone and checked if it was locked, Davina breathed out in relief when it went to the Home Screen. She jogged back up to her room and stared at the phone. She put in a number and hesitantly pressed call.
1 ring 2 ring 3 ri-
"Hello?" Nadia's voice spoke curiously. Davina let out a sob and sat down in shock. "Uh, is anyone there? I swear to god if this is a prank call I will find out where you live and ri-"
"Nadia, it's me." Davina whispered. There was a few moments of silence.
"Davina?" Nadia sobbed.
"Yes it's me. I took a phone for a bit." Davina had tears rolling down her face.
"Oh my god, D. Are you ok?" Nadia asked, it seemed she was crying as well.
"Yes. I'm ok, he gave me a room." Davina explained.
"That little bitch! I mean I would give you a room over my annoying ass any day but still, what the fuck!" Nadia laughed. Davina did too, through the tears. Suddenly, loud steps were coming up with stairs.
"Nadia I gotta go. I love you and miss you, bye." Davina quickly spoke and hung up the phone and put it under her bum. The door opened to reveal a sweaty Eliot. Davina had tears still coming down her face and was red in the cheeks. Eliot looked at her curiously for a few seconds and walked over to her. Davina would've made a remark by now but she was too scared he'd know about the phone. Eliot knelt down so he got to the same level with Davina.
"Are you okay?" He whispered, wanting to hold her and tell her it'll all be fine.
"Yes I'm peachy. Now can you please let me cry in peace!?" Davina exclaimed, being way to harsh on him. But it was the only way to get him to leave. Her heart was beating a million times per second. If he catches her with the phone who knows what he'll do!
"Listen I get that you try and act like you don't like me, but I've come here with an offer." Eliot said, remembering their kiss. As scared as she was, her interest peaked.
"Go on." Was all she said.
"As I've come out of hiding now, I've got to connect with my fathers previous business partners, and I got an invite to a ball. Can you believe they still do those? Maybe it's just the rich snobs but I've got a few of my guys coming with me. But I didn't think it'd be complete without you..." Eliot was pacing around the room now.
A ball? Davina had never been to one of those, she's heard stories from Darcy about some but she herself had never attended. Despite having to go with Eliot, she couldn't refuse. Plus, it was getting boring being in this room all day every day.
"I'll go." Davina accepted. Eliot's mood seemed to lighten up and he had a big smile on his face.
"Awesome. Cool. It's tomorrow night by the way. Be ready. I'll get my people to get you ready." He stepped outside of Davinas room and Davina imagined him to hop to his room. Finally, Davina let out a big breath and got the phone from beneath her. She needed to put this back immediately. But first she deleted the recent number so no one will know she had used the phone.
