the burrowCASSIA WALKED BESIDE DELEINE QUIETLY ON THE GRASS, the two looking around as they did. They had arrived at the Quidditch World Cup long ago and were searching for their friends amidst the bustling crowd. Deleine had traveled with Cassia's family, preferring not to accompany the Chang family. As they walked around, Cassia's gentle voice broke through the din.
"Do you think she's already in the stands?" Cassia asked, intertwining her arm with Deleine's. The brunette turned her head from the loud atmosphere and nodded, allowing Cassia to lead them swiftly to the stands. "I'm shocked you agreed to this."
"It's better than being stuck at home alone. I almost turned down my mother's offer to go," Deleine replied, referring to Cho's mum. They stepped onto the stands and soon spotted Indigo. Cassia started running towards her, dragging Deleine along.
Deleine, who had a better view of Indigo than Cassia did, widened her eyes. "Cassia, stop!" she tried to say before they were stopped in front of not only Indigo but two familiar blondes from the Malfoy family. It made sense, given they were her guardians. Cassia frowned as the two boys looked at them.
Deleine glanced up to see who else they had caught the attention of and noticed the Weasleys looking down at her and Cassia. "Miss Thorn, Miss Chang," Lucius spoke as the girls approached. Draco's eyes wandered to the girls, and he gave Deleine a small, unnoticed smile.
Cassia cleared her throat and smiled at Lucius. "Mr. Malfoy, how wonderful to see you. We were actually looking for... uhm..."
"Me," Indigo interrupted the awkward moment. Lucius turned to her. "Narcissa said I'd be welcome to sit with the Thorns and Deleine instead of... you." She gave him a brave smile, unphased by the man.
"Well then," he said, turning to the girls. "Wonderful to see you again, Miss Chang, Miss Thorn." His eyes lingered on Deleine before he and Draco walked down the stands to find their seats.
As the girls started walking up the stands near where the Weasleys were seated, Cassia slapped Indigo's arm, stopping them. "Merlin's beard, you didn't tell me you'd be with Lucius Malfoy!" she complained in her usual loud voice once Lucius was out of sight.
"You didn't ask! And I live in the same house as him!" Indigo quickly defended herself. "And it's not my fault you're afraid of him."
"She's right, Cassia," Deleine calmly added.
"Oh please, of course, you'd feel calm and secure around him; you've been in his home!" Cassia shot back.
"Okay, I did not say I felt calm and secure around him. I'm just saying he's not a monster who's going to pop out from under your bed at night and hex you!" Deleine laughed, and Indigo struggled to keep from laughing as well.
