vi. weasley's girl.
THE THREE GIRLS PUSHED THROUGH THE CROWD OF CHEERING PEOPLE, trying their best to reach the seats they were eager to get. "Excuse me," Cassia said to a boy as she moved past him, her hand in Indigo's while Indigo's hand was in Deleine's, all leading each other.
The girls continued until Cassia was face to face with the same group of lads they'd spent their last few days with. "About time you lot showed up," Kenneth grinned, catching the attention of the other boys, who turned and clocked their arrival. The three girls squeezed into the empty spots the boys had saved for them. Cassia ended up between Kenneth and Lee, Indigo beside Fred, and Deleine next to George.
"Everyone was making a right faff of it," Cassia grumbled as she settled in. "And don't get me started on Indigo taking her sweet time to get ready... and you," Cassia finally pointed at Deleine, "You've been whinging about your ears all morning!"
"Someone sounds narked," Lee said with a teasing grin.
"What's wrong with her ears?" George asked, turning to Deleine, who was cupping her ears.
"Cass has been acting right dramatic all day, and my ears are just really cold," Deleine explained.
"It's colder than a witch's knickers outside, and you walked out without your muffs?" Fred asked. Deleine rolled her eyes, still rubbing her ears.
George grinned and chuckled before taking his own earmuffs off. He pulled her hands away from her ears and gently placed the earmuffs on her. "Thank you," she smiled, "At least one of you is useful." She glared at Fred, who clutched his heart dramatically.
"Why'd you come out without anything?" George asked as he adjusted the earmuffs, making sure they fit her perfectly.
"Didn't reckon it'd be that cold, honestly," Deleine responded, looking up at the taller boy, watching him fuss over the earmuffs.
"There..." George said softly as he pulled his hands away.
"What about your ears?" Deleine asked with a smile, tilting her head. George covered his ears with his hands in a playful gesture before letting them go and turning to face the front. The group continued to chatter until the task began.
"Think Harry will succeed?" Indigo asked calmly.
"It's possible," Kenneth replied.
"He'll absolutely smash it," Fred declared. "And if he doesn't, I might just actually chuck him into the lake myself. Got a bet with Georgie." Fred scoffed, making the group burst into laughter.
Deleine glanced around the group, blowing into her gloved hands to warm them up. Normally, she loved the cold—much preferred it over the heat any day. But today, it felt like her body was turning to ice. She couldn't figure out why the chill was affecting her so much; she never usually got this cold so easily.
