6 ~ Dinner

Update? Update! An early one? An early one! Hahahah :P

Before you guys start reading just want to let you all know there will be quite a lil bit of going back and fourth between Anber and Hussain's perspective. And the reason is because there will be a song sequence in this chapter. And the lines read from one's perspective will tell you what they feel and what they want to say but can't. So the song will express their feelings for each other. So a lil bit of going back and fourth ... Lol!

*Anber's perspective*

We sat in the car and drive off to God knows where Shehry was planning to take us for dinner. Shehry was driving the car with Afifa sitting next to him on the passenger seat. I sat behind Shehry with Hussain next to me.

There was silence on our way to the restaurant. God this silence always eats me from inside. We all drove in silence until Shehry decided to break it.

"Music?" He asked. No one replied back to him. They just sat there staring out the window, lost in their own thoughts.

"Yea." Hussain replied after a minute. Shehry extended his arm forward and turned the music on.

The music started lowly. Second by second the sound increased as the song progressed. A minute later I realized what song was playing. My head instantly turns in Hussain direction and his turns my way. I realized the same thought rushed our minds at the same time.

This song... It was mine and Hussain's favorite. We used to listen to it the whole time back in our college days.

Ya Allah ye purane yaadein phir se kyun taaza kar rahe ho? Kitni mushkilon se sab bhulane ki koshish ki hai? Bahut mushkil hai Allah. Bahut mushkil!

The lyrics came in frame of the song after the background music.

All those old moment came refresh running in my mind. These lyrics synced so well with our situation.

It reminded me of those promises Hussain made to me as a friend, all those times we spent chitchatting instead of paying attention in class.

"Mera yaar sajan tu, Dildaar sajan tu."

I glance over at Hussain as the song went on.

"Tere tarley pawaan, Tenu kinj samjhawan"

I've loved you before Hussain and I still do. Bas farkh itna hai ke ye ishq mein dard bahut hai. Pata nahi hai ke us din jo hua ghalti kiski thi, lekin ek baat zaroor jaanti hoon ki ab apne aap ko hi zimmedaar maan ne lagi hoon. Kaash tum jaan patey poori baat. Samajh nahi aata ke ab kaise samjhaun tumhein.
