---Luke’s POV---
When I arrive an hour and a half later I quickly run into the main building. I get directed to the search and rescue quadrant where they quickly usher me into Aspen’s office.
When he looks up and sees me he heaves a sigh of relief as he knows what me being here means. I hand him Reagan’s note which he quickly reads. He types the coordinates into his computer and says, “Thank you. Now everyone has her location. We’re going to be leaving right now.”
I nod and he says, “You should be the first person she sees. We’ll get you a uniform.”
I thank him and go get one. I put it on just like Reagan does it and go join the rest of them. Then we’re loaded onto a plane to Iraq.
---1 Day Later---
Aspen knocks on the door that matches Reagan’s coordinates. When a lady answers he says something to her in Arabic. She nods and leads us to a bedroom. She moves a small table to reveal a small trap door. She pulls it up and Aspen motions for me to go to it.
I look down and see Reagan lying on a worn out mattress, deep in sleep. I carefully climb down the ladder and kiss her cheek. Her eyes flutter open and tears start flooding down her dirt covered cheeks when she sees me. I cry too. She throws her arms around me and I embrace her in a tight hug. Then I say, “Two months was too long.”
She nods and says, “I agree. Just so you know, you look mighty fine in a uniform."
I smile and grab her pack. I hoist it up to Aspen and then she starts climbing the ladder. I follow behind her. When we’re out she tells them that she’s the only survivor. She thanks the lady for keeping her safe and then follows us out to the bus.
She’s finally coming home.
