An Ocean Between Us (L.H.)

Chapter 3

I wake up when I hear a pounding on my door. I throw on a shirt and go to the door. Luke is standing there holding a bouquet of flowers. I smile and say, "Nice seeing you. Come in."

He walks into my apartment and hands me the flowers. I grab a vase and while I'm putting the flowers in I say, "Well it was a pleasant surprise seeing you but how the hell did you find my apartment?"

"It's not very hard to look at the building in the back round of Instagram pictures then to go to that building and look on the list of people living here to find your neighbor and buzz up to her and explain my surprise so I don't ruin it for you. She's a very nice lady so she kindly let me up. I think she has a soft spot for you. I'm lucky I found your place though. They don't have signs."

"Stalker much? Stacy is very nice though. She does like me. And they don't have signs because the people who live here know where they live."

He nods in agreement. I put the flowers on my dining room table and go lay my head on Luke's lap. I let out a yawn and close my eyes. Luke laughs and says, "You can never wake up quick can you? It's 12:30!"

"Yeah you woke me up!"

"Oh sorry! Whatcha wanna do today?"

"SWIMMING!"

"Alright! I figured you'd say that so I packed a swim bag. Let's get lunch then go!"

I nod and quickly make a sandwich. Luke does too. Then I go change and get my things ready. In half an hour we're all ready to go. We hop in his car and head to the Collicut Centre. He pays and we go inside. We go to our separate change rooms and meet in the big pool. Luke comes towards me like he's going to give me a hug but instead he flings me over his shoulder like a sack of potatoes. When he gets out as deep as he can without getting me wet he says, "I hope you know how to swim!"

"LUKE ROBERT HEMMINGS! You don't want to mess with military personnel! It could be a criminal offence! I also know how to break your nose."

He laughs and says, "Right. Forgot about that."

Then he gently sets me down. We share a stare and then he looks at my lips. Before he has the chance to make the first move I press my lips to his. He kisses me back. When we break apart he says, "I'd love to continue but we have to keep it PG for the children."

He motions to the children looking at us, most with gross looks on their faces. I laugh and splash him with water. Then I say, "Let the fight begin!"

I lied and I updated one more time! I thought my family was going to be camping today but we came home early to have a day in between camping and school and we also had to get ready for our garage sale!
