My alarm goes off and I quickly shut it off and go to the bathroom. It's six in the morning and today I leave. I quickly shower and hop out. I put on my robe, dry my hair, and brush it.

Then I go to the kitchen. I make myself breakfast and eat quickly. Then I go back to the bedroom, where Luke is getting ready. I smile at him and go to the bathroom. I take off my robe, put on a white tank top, and put my robe back on. I brush my hair back and put it in a very clean, polished ponytail. I make sure my part goes right down the middle of my head and that the ponytail is in the middle of my head. All is good so I twist my hair into a very clean bun. I pin it and examine it to make sure it's up to code.

The military has very strict rules on hair. Everything has to be clean, if your hair is long it must be in a bun, you have to have a straight part, your bun can't be off to one side, no headbands, your hair elastics must match your hair color, and your pins can't show. It was hard at first but now it's nothing.

After I know my hair is good I go to the bedroom. Luke goes into the bathroom and I go to my closet. I grab my uniform and lay it on the bed. I also grab my backpack and helmet. Everything is green camouflage. I put on my uniform and straighten out the creases. I clip my helmet onto my backpack and make sure everything I need is in my backpack. After I zip it up I sling it over my shoulders and pick up my cap.

When I get to the front door Luke is already there. Luke and I get Ashton to take a picture of us on both of our phones. When I get mine back I set it as my back ground. Then Luke and I go down to my car. We hop in and start the drive to Edmonton.

Before I know it we're at the military base in Edmonton. I place my cap on my head and hop out. I grab my backpack and put it on my shoulders. I walk up to the front of the car and grab Luke's hand. We walk to the outside of the main building, where everyone else but me is saying goodbye to their loved ones. Then we get the dreaded five minute warning. I turn to Luke and give him a huge hug. We stand like that for a few minutes, and then share a passionate kiss. I say one last goodbye and walk onto the bus. I take a seat and put my backpack beside me. As we pull away I wave to Luke.

On the way to the airport I notice lots of people lining the side of the roads, sending us off. Once we make it to the airport we get in our marching formation and march to the plane. Once we're in the spacious cabin we choose a seat. I take off my cap and settle in for the long flight.
