Chapter 12

I woke up with the feeling of someone watching me. As I sat up to check it out I noticed the door to my room was open, I walked over to it but as I looked around there was no one to be found. I shrugged the feeling off and went back to my bed and sat down. I reached over and turned the light on while I glanced at the clock, it read 6 am. I thought to myself for a minute, normally right now I would be getting ready for school, but sense I have already finished my exams and turned in the last of my assignments for this year I decided against going back to school for the remainder of the year.

I tried laying back down for a while but I could not get comfortable, so I got up and dressed for morning patrol. I figured a good run would be nice. I put on a black sports bra and some sweat pants, then proceeded to run down stairs coming to a sudden stop at the bottom as if running into a brick wall. I ended up face down on the floor with someone groaning next to me.

" Who knew werewolves were so solid, damn that really hurt." I heard the voice say before I stood and held my hand to help them up.

" Kira!, I'm so sorry I guess I wasn't paying much attention to what was in front of me." I apologized not realizing I still held her hand, do to the look of utter shock plastered on her face. I quickly dropped her hand and cleared my throat.

" I should get going." I said and turned to leave before she put a hand on my shoulder to stop me.

" Where are you going?" She asked with a curious look.

" Morning patrol around the perimeter of the land." I said and waited to see what she would say next, suddenly I realized the look on her face was as if she heard nothing I had just said. Her hand was still planted on my shoulder and it seemed we were a lot closer than just a few seconds ago.

" Oh" She said as she suddenly pulled away, I could feel my heart rate return to normal not to mention I could hear hers do the same. " Can I join you? There is not much to do around hear during the day."

" Now that depends" I paused for a little dramatic effect. " Can you keep up" I said then turned using all my super human speed and took off. Needless to say she was by my side the whole time never giving up. Which really impressed me, not even my father could keep up with me. After we had been all around the land we decided to walk back to the house it was around 11 in the morning by then. All of a sudden I heard Missy in my head.

" Alpha, we need you hear now!" Was all she said.

As I took off running towards the house I heard Kira asking what was going on, but I ignored her and continued on to the house. When I walked inside, what I saw literally pissed me off. As I stood and looked at the scene before me I could feel my wolf begin to claw at the surface, threatening to take over. I could feel my eyes turn florescent green. There was broken glass and furniture scattered around the room along with puddles of blood and random splatters across the walls. I had to force myself to continue through the house to where I heard yelling, screaming, and growling. When I reached the front sun room everything started going in slow motion.

In the far right corner Missy, Sophie, and Jeff had a huge black rough wolf cornered. I began to shake when I saw Alex lying near by knocked out bleeding from her stomach. I locked eyes with the beast that had intruded on my land, it charged throwing Missy across the room. I dodged his attack at the last second. As I landed behind him I felt my bones begin to break. My wolf was livid, this beast messed with the wrong pack.

The transformation lasted only a few seconds, by the time it was over I had already pinned it on the ground baring my teeth deep into his neck. I was going for the kill. Before I could complete what i had in mind the rough wolf managed to throw me off. Now we were standing off in the middle of my sun room. Baring teeth, growling, and slowly rotating in a circle. I was staring right into his eyes, challenging him, daring him to continue.
