Chapter 9

~Kira's P.O.V~

I was in the basement thinking about this new change that had happened to me. I don't understand it at all. One minute I'm a normal vampire with the exception of being able to walk outside in the middle of the day, and the next something is inside my head telling me that the alpha of the pack Drako brought us to is my mate, I don't even know what that means. And last night, I was a wolf. I didn't know what to do or think. I always knew I was somehow different but this, this is just absurd. It all hit me at once. I was standing there In the woods, listening to Drako talk to this girl as if she was a Queen, which did in fact shock me. Drako never talked to anyone like that not even Romero, the vampire lord. Anyway I decided to take a look for myself. I stepped out from behind everyone and looked around, when I saw the girl he was talking to, my breath hitched. She was gorgeous with long black hair and emerald like green eyes. I was taken aback with her goddess like features. And that's when it all happened. It hit me like a steel rod to the gut. I locked eyes with the girl Drako called Cassandra and suddenly my stomach felt heavy and pain ceased through my whole body like never before. All of a sudden someone was in my head burning, like someone lit a match to gas, and yelling MATE! MATE! MATE!

At that moment something changed in her eyes as she buckled over in pain, and out of nowhere she shifted into a black and brownish giant wolf. She looked at me for a long minute then to the wolf that stood next to her. After that she took off. The whole time I stood there with my bones shaking beneath my skin. Everything blurred and for a moment I felt nothing but power. After that night I decided to stay away from everyone as much as possible. I didn't know what was happening to me. All of a sudden I was even more strong than before which is wired because I am already a vampire. My senses heightened, and then last night I turned into a wolf. All I could say to myself was 'What the hell?' 

I laid back on the bed I was given and contemplated what I should do next. And yet again there was a voice loud and clear in my head telling me to go talk to her. I pondered this idea for a few moments. I decided that I would try to find her and intrudes myself. This should be fun I thought to myself. I had a reputation for being cocky from time to time. I got up and started my search It would be easy with my new abilities. At first I had thought that she wasn't in the house. I looked every where, in all the rooms and everything. So I decided to go out side and look before I give up. When I did I caught onto A sweet smell, something told me to follow it and I did. It lead me to the back yard where I saw her, she was breath taking in her sweets and sports bra and she was slightly sweating I caught a glimpse of her perfectly toned stomach she was definitely stunning. I built up all the courage I could muster and started walking towards her.
