When I woke up, everything was dark. I figured everyone had gone to bed when i looked at the clock and it read 11:15. I sat up and realized I was still hungry. I made my way out of the living room into the kitchen where I found Jeff sitting at the table on his computer.
"Hey" i say opening the fridge. Jeff is around 37, older than me, he also was my fathers beta. He stood at about 6'2, to my 5'7. He had brown shaggy hair that was always pulled back in a pony tail. He was my dads best friend, and he is the one who is teaching me the things I need to know about running a pack.
"Hi, Cassandra." He said looking up at me, as I grabbed leftovers from the fridge.
"What has you up so late." I ask trying to start a conversation.
"Somebody your father and I used to know is moving back to town, I was looking some stuff up about what they have been up to the last couple of year." He said clearing his throat.
"Should I be worried." I ask concerned.
"Not at the moment, I have things taking care of right now."
" Alright, and by the way I go by Alpha" i said smirking. Jeff and I have always joked around, so he caught on quick.
"You are absolutely right, Alpha." He said chuckling. I finished my food and washed my plate. I informed Jeff that no one would be going to school tomorrow due to the full moon. We always had a ceremony. I wasn't going to ruin tradition. When everything was done and said I headed to my room to find Missy in her spot on my bed. I don't know why she sleeps in here she has her own room and sometimes it got old.
I changed into my night cloths, and climbed into bed. I laid there for a while thinking about tomorrow and all the crazy shit that happened today. Finally I slowly drifted into a deep dreamless sleep.
I woke up to someone yelling at me that someone was on the property. I jumped up in the matter of seconds and ran downstairs to find Jeff. When I did he already had the cameras turned on and finding the intruder.
"Anything?" I ask.
"No not yet, I'm going to go wake up Sophie, Alex, and Stephan. Can you take over?" He said quickly getting up and running out.
Once everyone was up and ready, we all took off out the back door into the woods but we stayed in our human forms just in case.
