35| Fight

When I wake up, he was already gone.

I check the time to see it was 9am. He turned my alarm off and left for school. My heart flutters and I just sigh.

I climb out of bed and have a shower. I put on some black jeans and a peach crop top before doing some makeup and my hair.

I grab a jacket and head out of the door, heading for the Jeep.

"Did you see his face?" Lily asks and I nod. "I did." I say and she winces.

We pack up our stuff to head to lunch together.

We meet up with everyone at our table. The second Maddie sits down she almost squeals at me. "A little birdie told me that you and Alex Parker are together and had sex in the toilets on Tuesday." She says and I sigh and turn to Lily.

"You two had sex in the toilets?" She asks and I groan. "No." I sigh. "We were just talking and we aren't together." I confirm and Maddie nods her head slowly.

"You aren't together?" Ethan asks and I shake my head no.

I feel eyes peering at me so I tell Lily that I'll be back.

I head out of the cafeteria, only to be followed by Kyle.

Hunter waves at me whilst he was on the phone. He glares at Kyle behind me, but Kyle doesn't scare away.

I stop and turn to Kyle who gave me a soft smile.

"Hi." He says and I smile. "Hi." I say back. "I heard that you and Alex broke up." He says and I furrow my eyebrows. "We were never together." I say confused.

"But he said... doesn't matter." He says and I roll my eyes.

"India, you know I like you." He says and I raise an eyebrow. "I was just wonderinf if you wanted to go out or something, you know, for food. On a date." He says and I raise an eyebrow.

"A date?" I ask and he nods. "Like a romantic one?" I ask and he nods again.

"No." Alex snaps behind me. "I wasn't asking you." Kyle bites and Alex's jaw tenses. "Tell him." He says looking down at me.

Surely that's what I want right? A date, the romantic stuff? But just not with Kyle.

I give him an apologetic smile and he sighs. "Are you kidding, you were totally about to say yes before he showed up demanding you don't. He doesn't rule your life India. You can tell me yes and he can't do shit about it." Kyle basically shouts and Alex sort of steps infront of me and pushes me into someone and I look up to see Hunter.

"Don't talk to her like that!" Alex demands and I feel faint all of a sudden. "You're one to talk." Kyle spits. I feel the anget radiating off of Alex and go to grab him away but Hunter pulls me back.

"I know." Alex says and Kyle seems to tense. "And I'm gonna tell her as karma. Because you can't seem to get in your mind that she's mine. How many times do I have to tell you before you actually listen to me." Alex shouts. I'm gonna be sick.

"She's not property." Kyle shouts and swings for Alex. Alex catches his fist and then lays into Kyle with punch after punch.

My eyes were just glued to the scene. Alex beating the crap out of Kyle. Hunter squeezes my hand and I can hardly focus on it.

People start to gather around us and I take a step back. "Wait here." Hunter says before grabbing the back of Alex's sweatshirt.

"Let's go." Hunter says as soon as Alex's eyes land on mine. I avert my eyes quickly and Hunter grabs my hand and leads me out to the car park.

"What the hell was that?" Hunter yells at him when we near my Jeep. "You heard the shit he was saying to her, she was clearly uncomfortable." Alex argues and I sigh and climb into my Jeep.

"Uh no. You're staying." Hunter says stopping me from closing the car door. I've just noticed how I apparently cannot stay in school past lunch time. I can't remember the day I stayed in school a full day.

"I just want to go to bed. Let me go home." I complain and Hunter looks from me to Alex.

"It's not like that." I say and he raises an eyebrow. "It isn't we've uh decided to uh cut things off." I say and he looks at Alex. "She decided not me." He says and Hunters rolls his eyes.

"What did I tell you?" Hunter says and I furrow my eyebrows. "I know. I know." Alex sighs.

"Please can I go." I say and Hunter scoffs. "No, tell Alex how you feel." He says and I raise an eyebrow. "About..." I drag out, confused.

"About the fight." He snaps and I sigh. "This looks stupid, can we all get in my car." I say and they do exactly that.

Alex gets in the passenger seat and Hunter gets in the back.

"Go on." Hunter says. "I thought it was stupid. I can talk for myself and although Kyle did swing first, he shouldn't of hit him." I say looking at Hunter.

"Did you hear that?" Hunter asks. "Funny enough, I did." Alex bites. "But I wasn't gonna not defend myself." He says and I roll my eyes. "You shouldn't of even been there to defend yourself." I say.

"I was defending you." He says and I sigh. "I don't need your defending all the time. If I wanted to go on a date with Kyle, I would and there would be nothing you could do to stop me." I say turning to him.

"Don't you get that your mine? No one will ever care or lookout for you the way I do." He bites and I roll my eyes. "You don't know that." I say and he laughs, actually laughs.

"I know it, you know it, Hunter knows it, everyone knows it. You're just being stubborn." He says and I roll my eyes again.

"What do you think of that?" Hunter asks as I glare at Alex. "I think he's a man and men run off their ego. I don't need him, I don't need you, I only need myself." I bite and Alex rolls his eyes.

"How far did that get you last time? No contact with anyone except for Josh and Phoebe and you cried yourself to sleep day in, day out." He bites and my jaw hangs. Wow. Rude.

"That's what you think?" Hunter asks him. "When the hell did you become a therapist? Fuck off." Alex shouts.

"Hey! I know you think a lot of people don't care about you but we do okay? Speaking for me and belittling both me and Hunter isn't gonna get you any where. If you wanna be friends, lose the god damn attitude." I snap and Alex looks pissed.

"I don't wanna be your fucking friend." He shouts at me and I sit back in my seat, a little taken back. Ouch.

"That's not what I meant." He says and I roll my eyes. "Good job at showing you care. Now if you'd like to get out of the car, I'm not sure it's where people who aren't my friends should be." I say putting my keys in the ignition.

"Oh come on India let me explain." He sighs.

"India. I need to get out, but we're still friends right?" Hunter asks and I nod. "For sure." I say and he smiles before climbing out my Jeep.

"India." Alex pleads and I roll my eyes beford heading home to nap.
