When my alarm rings signalling that I need to get up, I just wanted to cry. I hate school if that's not obvious.
When I had spent enough time in bed contemplating dropping out of school, I drag myself out of bed and into the bathroom to have a shower. I put on some blue jeans and a black crop top and a black cardigan.
I make my bed and then grab my bag then put my shoes on. I head downstairs and drink some coffee along with some strawberries.
I pull my raincoat on and put the hood up immediately. I stumble around the house looking for my keys.
When I finally find them I rush out to my car trying to avoid the rain as much as possible.
When I get to school I yet again ignore the looks coming from everyone. I head to my locker and put my bag in and get my books out for my 1st period.
"I've been texting you." Kyle says leaning against the locker beside mine. "And I've been ignoring you." I say before closing my locker door.
"Oh come on." Kyle says following behind me. "No. Kyle look I really am sorry if I offended you or whatever but there's no need for all this." I say waving my hand around.
We walk past a group of boys who then whistle. "Brown, there's a supply closet in the stair well." One of them say and I turn to Kyle who sighs. "I am sorry. Seriously." He says and I groan.
"What?" Kyle asks and I sigh. "I need to go upstairs." I say and realisation hits him. "Oh... sorry. Um..." he says and I sigh. "It's whatever." I say and just head for the stairs, straight past the supply closet.
"What did you even say to them?" I ask Kyle who was still following me. "Nothing bad I swear." He says and I turn to him. "Yeah I'm sure it was all sweet little cutesy words to create this mess." I say rolling my eyes.
"Can you stop snapping at me?" He asks and my eyes widen. "Are you serious Kyle? I've been here for a few weeks and now everyone thinks I'm a slut. Thanks to your words." I say and he sighs. "No you brought that on when you left with Alex." He says and I stop and turn to him.
"Alex has nothing to do with this." I say and he raises an eyebrow at me. "He gave me a ride home. You left me on the porch and it was freezing, what else was I supposed to do?" I say and he sighs. "I would've given you a ride home." He says and I scoff. "Sure." I say and he sighs.
"I'm just saying you brought it on yourself with the Alex situation." Kyle says and I scoff. I take the next step so I could meet his eyes directly.
"I didn't know what you can't get a ride home without getting called a slut in Washington. They should really put up a sign." I say and he sighs. "That's not what I mean. It's just... Alex has a rep you know?" He says and I squint at him.
"So?" I ask and he sighs. "I'm just saying be careful who you go home with." He says and I roll my eyes. "You're pissing me off." I say and start to walk back up the stairs.
"I really am sorry India." Kyle calls after me. "No you aren't, don't you boys thrive off of this kind of attention?" I ask but before he could answer I get out of the stair well.
The same boys from earlier laugh when they see me and start whistling. I roll my eyes and head straight to my first period.
I hate men.

After my shift at the coffee shop I head home. When I get there, the kitchen light was on and mom's car was in the drive. I smile and grab my bag before jumping out of the car."Hi sweetheart." Mom shouts when I walk through the door. "Hi." I call back as I head into the kitchen. "I thought you'd be cooking?" I ask and she nods. "I have, the lasagna is in the oven." She says and I nod. "Okay, well I'll go get dressed." I say and she nods.
