When popular girl Nini Salazar-Roberts finds out she's failing English and has to go to poetry club to raise her grade, she meets poetry nerd Ricky Bowen, who will change her life forever.
Ricky was walking down the hallway after talking to a teacher when he came across a very distraught Nini Salazar-Roberts. "Nini ,are you ok?"Ricky asked confused. He noticed she had tears in her eyes.
"Ricky?,what are you doing here?" Nini wondered. "You remembered my name?" Ricky smiled. "Anyway I was talking to a teacher" Ricky said, trying to get back on topic.
"Anyways, I'm fine" Nini said, wiping her tears, trying to avoid more. "Are you sure?" Ricky questioned again. Then suddenly, it was like she couldn't control it anymore, she broke down.
Ricky didn't know what he should do, so he just hugged her. "It's okay" he said, trying to comfort her.
"Thank you for that" she said after she was able to recollect her thoughts. "Any time" Ricky said smiling. "I'll see you in poetry club tomorrow I guess" Ricky said. "Looking forward to it" Nini said slightly sarcastically but smiling.
