the enchanted forest . now .

THE BLUE EYED MAN HAD A COCKY SMILE INVADING HIS FEATURES AS HE INSISTED THE WOMEN LOOK IN HIS SATCHEL, trying to prove his story of being some sort of famed ship captain, with a hook for a hand.

Emma was rightfully confused by his claim, "As in Captain Hook?" She asked, having heard tales of the pirate- though the real deal was far strung out from the stories she had grown up with.

"Ah, so you've heard of me." The smugness of his smile wasn't lost on the blonde, and she rolled her eyes, moving to stand next to Snow- who was now holding Killian's satchel.

His smile only fell when he could once again see the young boy that travelled with the group of women, blinking away his sleepiness and looking up into the trees, flitting his gaze between branches and the birds that perched there.

Now that Killian's attention had been drawn to those very birds, he realized there was hardly a single tree nearby that didn't harbour at least one of the feathery creatures.

As he mused over how strange this detail was, Snow answered the man's previous request of looking into his belongings, snapping Killian's satchel open and pulling out a glinting silver hook.

A growl sounded once again in the distance, pulling Killian back to the situation at hand and alerting the group to the ogres nearby.

"You better hurry up, they're getting closer. So unless you wanna be dinner, you better start talking." Emma turned back to Killian, standing before him with determination to catch him in another lie. Any excuse she could find to leave the man where he stood, a free meal ticket to the oncoming storm of ogres in the not-so-distant distance.

Killian chuckled to himself, "Cora wanted me to gain your trust so I could learn everything there is to know about your Storybrooke." He explained. "She didn't want any surprises when she finally got over there."

"She can't get there. We destroyed the wardrobe." Snow pointed out, putting the silver hook back in Killian's satchel.

"Ah, but the enchantment remains. Cora gathered the ashes, she's gonna use them to open up a portal." Killian explained, growing slightly more fearful at the gurgling groans sounding from within the forest, "Now, if you'll kindly cut me loose."

"No." Mulan insisted, brandishing her sword and pulling Christopher closer to her. "We should leave him here to die, to pay for all the lives that he took."

"That was Cora, not me." The man snarled.

Emma sighed and began to beckon the group away, fully intending to leave Killian to his devices to ultimately become ogre chow.
