Dragon Master

Arrival

The days passed by very quickly, as today was the day I was supposed to be leaving.

I said my goodbye to my family as I got ready to leave. I took some Percy Jackson books like The Lightning Thief and The Red Pyramid, and some cloths, including a blue shirt and a dragon in the picture. To be honest, I don't know how will life be without my family and how it would be like with a dragon. Man, I'm excited, sure thing of course, but also upset that I'll have to leave my whole life behind, my childhood friends, my brothers and sister, my parents and everyone else.

I thought that I would cry, but I was taken aback to reality when the door bell rang. I heard my mum call me, and I knew this was it.

Leo Andrius, the first dragonborn in 2000 years.

"Dragon Brisk, here I come!" I thought to myself.

I heard a friendly chuckle and then someone spoke, "Not so fast my boy"

I was frozen in place. As if the ground has planted roots to anchor me in my place. Shock, scare, curiosity, all emotions flowed through me. Was this Elena's dragon talking to me? Was my mind playing tricks on me? I did not know. I was just standing there, cold and pale.

"Don't be scared Leo, I'm not your enemy, perhaps, I'm one of your greatest allies." the voice said. 

"Wh-who are you?!"  I exclaimed, "Tell me right now or I shall show no mercy!"

Right in that moment, I felt some kind of energy surge through me, my vision got sharper and I felt ten times more angry. 

W-what's happening to me? 

"Your dragon is responding to your emotions" the figure said, "and I don't need you to freak out my boy."

"Why wouldn't- wait. HOW DID YOU KNOW THAT I WAS WONDERING WHAT HAPPENED TO ME??????"

The man just chuckled and said, "I'm your great grandfather. In a simpler way, I'm Andrius, the last dragonborn to be seen in this city"

My life was practically a lie now, because there was no way in hell that I was talking to the greatest dragonborn in existence. I just nodded in disbelief (not in shame, that Leo doesn't believe what is happening) and then he explained to me that how my eyes or a dragonborn's eyes in general change into like a dragon's eyes. Narrow and sharp, and when a rider has a strong bond with their dragon, they unlock some kind of gooey substance, like a symbiote from Venom. Afterwards, Andrius told me that mine will be one that was never seen before. And yes, past lives of dragonborns can predict and see the future in addition he told me that in the dragonborn academy, which is a section only for dragonborns across the kingdom. All dragonborns attend the normal academy but we get special and extra lessons to learn more about our abilities and our bonds with our dragons.

"Well then, must not be late for your first day, shall you?" Andrius stated.

"Right." I replied.

Then everything blacked out. I did not faint, but my vision was blurred for a brief second and then I was fine. Andrius was gone and so as my dragonoid form was gone. Yes I named it dragonoid form.

"Leo! You come downstairs right now!" my mum called.

"Yes mother!" I replied. 

I rushed downstairs both excited and upset that I'll be leaving home. My mum, sister, Martina and my grandmother had tears in their eyes. They were crying because another family member from our family will be leaving. I know that I did not mention that but I have an older brother called Lancelot. He too was a dragon rider, sadly he has been killed in war. That is the biggest reason why I'll be glad to join the dragon forces; I want to avenge him. Shadow Orces, the greatest enemy of ours. Dragon riders had been in war with those creatures for 30,000 years, not until Andrius came along and ended it for a limited time. Then the war broke out again, the last battle was when Lancelot was killed in. That was when I was 3 years old. When my parents got the news, they were devastated by it. My father told me that Lancelot's dragon was named Typhon, so this is what I am going to name mine. All I knew about him was that he had a son, who was as old as me. His son's name was Luke from what I could remember.
