Donatello, I Can't

Chapter 23

I hummed to myself softly while in the shower. I jumped when there was a knock at the door. I wiped my eyes, " Who is it, I'm taking a shower?"

I heard Anore curse, " Damnit!"

She ran down the hall. I quickly rinsed all the remaining soap off of my body and dried my self. I put on purple yoga pants and a green low backed shirt. There was no time to let my wings dry. I ran out of the bathroom and into the open area to find Anore pucking in the kitchen trash can.

I put my hand to her back after she stood up straight and pushed some hair back. She jumped and gave a weak smile to my worried look. She gave a chuckle, " I bet Leo will be thrilled to find out that he is gonna have another kid huh?"

I smiled and hugged her, " Absolutely."

She smiled, and went to continue, but was interrupted by Donnie wrapping his arms around me. He pulled back though and wiped the water from his plastron.

He looked at me funny, " Why are your wings wet?"

I laughed, " I got out of the shower. I didn't feel like drying them with a dryer, so now I can't fly for like an hour."

Anore left with Leo and I gave a rye smile to my right. Donnie nudged me and asked with a gap toothed smile of his own, " What are you smiling for now Lilly?"

I swayed back and forth, " Nothing, just wait."

As soon as I said that, Leo came in yelling, leaving Anore in the room laughing, " I'm having another kid! Kasumi!" The little kitty hybrid ran up excitedly to her father, " You're getting a little brother or sister!"

She jumped up and down with Leo, " Now I can be a great big brother, but a sister just like you!"

Leo stopped and hugged his daughter tightly. I saw a tear roll down his cheek and I held mine back at this sweet moment. I walked out and into Donnie's lab. I logged onto my account on his computer. Donnie walked up behind me.

Putting one hand on the desk near the keyboard, and the other on the back of the chair, he asked, " What are you doing Lilly?"

I smiled and leaned my head up. I puckered my lips, making Donnie laugh. He pecked my lips and then I explained, " Payment made, now for answers. I am investing into buying a bakery. That small one that is going out of business right next door to my comic shop. Little Baker of the Prairie. I was thinking of renaming it Lil' n Don's Bakery."

Jimmy can run the comic store most of the time with Anna. Me and you can mostly work in the bakery for a while, but go in between. Crystelle will work there when we don't, but we manage both stores. I put your name on the space lease for the comic shop. I also did that for the bakery. So we are co-owners of a bakery, and a comic store together."

He stared in awe at me. I gave him a funny look and he gawked, " Did you go into business school. You are really good at this stuff."

I blushed and rubbed the back of my neck, " No, I just have a natural talent for this. I helped an old friend of mine settle her coffee shop's debt back when I was sixteen. She was about twenty-three, now she's thirty and owns five of her shops across the country."

He smiled and kissed my cheek, " You are an amazing person. I love you Lilly."

" I love you too Donnie." I kissed him, got up and flew to the door. " Wanna play some chess?"

He scoffed, " You know you're going to lose right?"

I looked back evilly, " We will see about that Donatello."
