Donatello, I Can't

Chapter 25

I walked out from behind the counter careful of my stomach. I am five and a half months pregnant and Donnie is so cute with how worried he is. I feel bad for Leo though. He didn't put the jelly on Anore's sandwich the right way, and he ended up on the couch at the Lair.

I went to the now empty table and cleaned it off with a semi-wet towel. I sat down to take a breath, before having to get up for a customer. The bakery was a success. I never realized I had a thing for and loved to bake. Me and Donny decided to name it Simply Baking. I smiled as I walked back.

The tiger girl was about sixteen, " Can I get three lemon cupcakes, no frosting, and a french vanilla coffee?"

I did as she asked and handed them to her, " Thank you, please come back anytime. And don't be late for school."

She took a sip of the coffee and a bite of the cupcake and her eyes widened, " I think I found my new daily spot. I'll bring friends later."

I nodded and she ran off before she was late for school. I smiled and turned around. I heard someone clear their throat. I widened my eyes to see a giant alligator before realizing who it was. I smiled, " What would you like Leatherhead?"

He looked around and smiled, " I would like two dozen of your glazed donuts?" As I was taking them from the warming shelf, he kept talking. " So you are Donatello's wife right?" I nodded and he chuckled, " I always grabbed his face when I lost my temper. I see you have a child on the way. Is it a boy or girl?"

I smiled and slid over his order, " I am finding out later. That will be $20.65. Actually, you're my last customer for today. I have to get Donnie." We walked out together and I locked up. I gave him a hug and we said our goodbyes.

I walked into the comic shop and Donnie was helping two customers. I flipped the sign to closed and walked to the other register. I helped the other guy and looked at Donnie with excitement, " You ready to find out?"

He kissed me and looked into my eyes, " Of course. My flower."

He locked up and we headed to the doctor.

I squz Donnie's hand as the warm gel was put on my swollen stomach. He looked at me and I was so happy. He had a look of PURE joy in his eyes. Then Dr. Lea said," Everything is fine. Would you like to know the gender?"

Me and Donnie looked at eachother and said simultaneously, " Yes."

She smiled and moved the ultrasound. A big smile swept across her face, " You are having a little....." We scooted a bit as she made us wait, she laughed, " A little girl, see."

She put the ultrasound so we could see the baby, I almost cried. I looked over at Donnie, He touched the screen gently as a tear slid down his cheek with a chuckle. He whispered, " I never thought I could ever have this."

I gave him a funny look, " What?"

He looked at me with tears on his cheeks, " A family of my own. A daughter, let alone someone to call a wife." He kissed me and we got our pictures and DVD.

~Those pesky pixies~

We walked into the Lair and everyone came up. Saphira asked, " So, what is it?"

We looked at each other and Donnie put his hand on my stomach, " It's a girl."

Everyone went wild and Zexion asked, " Did you get pictures or at least a DVD?"

They all looked at the photo as we put in the DVD. Even Splinter watched. He pointed to her as she first came up. Donnie was VERY proud to point out his daughter. I smiled from my seat on the recliner.

Splinter came up to Donnie, " I am proud of you my son." He actually hugged him. I somehow managed to get up on my own. I walked over and hugged him, " For you as well, my daughter."

Donnie bowed and I was left with, " Thanks dad."

He walked into the dojo to meditate and everyone walked away talking about our daughter. I fell asleep on the couch.

~Donatello's POV~

I smiled as Lilly slept on the couch. I found a way to carry her to my bed and crawled in with her, the way we always sleep no. I kissed her forehead and touched her stomach.

I let a tear slide down, " I love you both. My beautiful girls, I will always love and protect you." I put my chin over Lilly's head and fell asleep.
