Lying on the ground next to the lake, Asher tells me everything.

"It started two weeks ago", he starts. I look at the clouds hiding the stars. "I started to receive threats from an anonymous person. They knew everything about me: my past, my actual situation, my secrets..." He turns his head to me. I continue to look at the stars. "You probably don't know but I work with no one. I have no gang. I do everything by myself. Of course, I hire people to do the dirty work but they know nothing about me. I've done this since the day I quitted the Cursed- I was part of it if you didn't know."

I have tons of questions to ask. I shouldn't interrupt him. So I keep them for later.

"Your sister knows a lot of things about me. in the beginning I thought it was her the anonymous person. And after thousand times of me trying to catch her, she clearly showed that she's not the one who threatened me. I told her everything. And she volunteered to help me until they kidnapped her."

"I-

"Let me finish... Before all of this, Hailey made me promise that if anything happens to her, I should be by your side. No matter what are your intentions."

"I'm old enough for a babysitter", I say coldly. I'm still mad at Hailey. I don't need Asher to survive!

"It's not what you showed those past hours."

"Asshole!"

"Well. The asshole saved. At least thank me!"

"No."

"I tried to infiltrate myself in the gang", he explains. "So I can be close to you."

I frown my brows. Everything becomes clearer.

Asher adds, "Did you really think that I would let Connor catch me?" He chuckles. "I trapped them."

"Oh shut up. You've been trapped too. The computer..."

"It wasn't mine."

"I know. You told it to me." This time, I turn my head to him. His eyes are on me since the beginning. "I think that your plan was stupid."

"It's not."

"Then explain me how did you think you'd reach me by begin locked in that room?"

"I knew you'd want to see me. I knew you thought that I was the one who keeps Hailey."

I roll my eyes before saying, "I need some rest."

"Me too."

I turn my head back to the sky and close my eyes, praying that someone would choke Asher to death.
