We run and run until we cannot breathe anymore. There's a bar right in front of us.
"I need a drink", Asher says.
We enter the bar and take a seat. It's one of the only buildings that are not in ruin. We order what we want.
Watching the morning sky taking place, I tell Asher, "We should talk to the gang."
"No way."
"They may help us."
"They hate us."
"If we tell them everything that happened, they'll believe us. I'm sure of that."
"No, you're not."
I don't add a word. There is no way we can handle everything by ourselves. Me and Asher against the rest of the world. Impossible!
As I'm diving in my own thoughts, Asher takes me back to reality. He puts his lips next to my ear before whispering, "Look slowly at the T.V".
I obey. It's a small T.V but what it shows us is clear enough. Indeed, there are two pictures. One of Asher. The other shows my face. On the bottom is written, 'Be careful. Two criminals are missing. Accused of terrorism.'
"Do not move", Asher orders. I listen to him. "We'll have to leave discreetly."
I nod.
"Go first", he adds.
I get up and wait until the waiter goes to another table before running to the door.
"Hey!" I hear a man's voice shout. "Look who is leaving!"
I don't let them put their eyes on me. I open the door and get out. Asher is out in less than two seconds later.
"Run!" he shouts.
And we both run. We borrow different streets. Some are destroyed. Others are as usual.
Before I could turn to another street, Asher pushes me behind a building. I lean my back against the wall.
Then approaches me and asks, "Are the Cursedreally going to help us?"
