Sitting on the basement's bed, I watch Jayden- one of the gang members- making a double of the key, in case we need more than one, using materials that I do not recognize. He seems focused to the point of not paying attention to the clips of his long hair falling on his eyes.

It's Connor who comes to me first.

"Need a break?" he asks me.

"I'm already on a break."

"No, I mean do you want to breathe some fresh air?"

He gives me a soft smile. The kind of smile you can't refuse. So I accept and we walk out.

We buy milkshakes from a coffee shop and walk past different streets.

Connor is the first one to break the silence. "You did a great job, Kenzie."

I cringe at him pronouncing my nickname. Only Hailey calls me that way. And I don't really want it to change. So I gently say, "I don't really want to be rude but... Can you please not call me Kenzie."

"Why?"

Thank God we've just arrived to the foot of the city's greatest tower.

"Want to climb?" he suddenly asks, forgetting about the last discussion.

"Don't we have to wait till tomorrow. It's closed for now."

"And?" he smirks which makes me laugh.

"Follow me", he adds.

I do as he said. We walk to the back of the tower where only garbage takes place. Connor opens a door I haven't seen at first. I follow him into it and we climb the infinite stairs.

It's after what seems like an eternity that we arrive to a door that Connor pushes to let the breeze of the night wind tickle my face. We walk to the border of the balcony where I have to blink many times to realize what settles in front of me.

"I can't believe it", I say with a huge smile, the most honest smile I give since what happened to my sister.

The whole city lays below the tower. Everything! From the most lighted neighborhood to the darkest streets. Everything is small but gorgeous.

"I... I don't have the words..."

"I know", Connor replies while sitting on the border.

"Have you lost your mind?" I shout before laughing.

"Want to join?"

"No! I don't really want to lose my life..."

"If it happens to me, tell Ginny that she has always been the love of my life."

I can't help but laugh harder. The first time I saw her, I would have never thought that she could fall in love. But now that I know about her being my sister's girlfriend, I find this whole story absurd.
