she meets a cheerful girl who makes her
think otherwise.

Jungeun rolled her eyes at the two lovebirds she called friends. They had planned a brunch date but of course, it always ended with her third wheeling.

"Unnie, don't you ever feel lonely?" Yerim turned her head to face the older while her hand moved to feed Hyeju, who was seated next to her.

Hyeju hummed happily once receiving the food, which Yerim smiled at.

Jungeun cleared her throat, "No, not really. I'm way too occupied with working or studying. Dating would just get in the way."

"But don't you ever wish you had someone to help you when you're struggling with that stuff?" Hyeju asked, grabbing Yerim's hand under the table.

Jungeun let herself think for a moment. She'd never really thought about that. She was so used to doing things alone, having someone by her side sounded strange to her.

She concluded that the idea was silly and shook her head, "Nope, not really." Jungeun chuckled and stood up, excusing herself to go to the bathroom.

The couple only nodded and returned to being all lovey-dovey to which Jungeun silently grimaced at.

She made her way to the bathroom and sighed when she looked at herself through the mirror. She looked a bit drowsy or tired, barely visible eye bags started to form under her eyes.

Jungeun shook the thought away and splashed some water on her face and it made her feel a bit better.

She wiped her hands and exited the bathroom, not paying attention and accidentally ran into someone.

"Oh shit- are you okay?" Jungeun hurriedly asked the girl with wide eyes.

The girl was on the floor, her cup of coffee spilled on the both of them. The girl looked up while on the ground, smiling and nodding.

Jungeun held out her hand to help her up, which she took.

The girl was wearing a floral dress and her hair was tied up halfway. Her makeup was really light and Jungeun thought her lipstick fit well with the girl's appearance.

She quickly shook her head and stopped staring at the girl, instead ran a hand through her hair, sighing.

"I'm really sorry about that. Here." She handed the girl a napkin to wipe herself.

"It's okay, don't worry." The girl smiled.

"Is there anything I can do to repay you?" Jungeun was always a naturally forgiving person. She always wanted to repay someone in any way even if she didn't need to.

The girl giggled seeing Jungeun so frantic. "How about you give me your number? That'll be enough to repay me."

Jungeun was about to hand the girl her phone but stopped abruptly.

"Wait what- you're not mad at me?"

The girl shook her head, "Oh no! How could I be mad at you? You look so adorable all worried!"
