—jungeun's drunk and jinsoul is a good distraction from her problems.
-
The night was setting over the small neighborhood she grew up in and street lights lined on either side of the road, began glowing orange.
It was silent walk besides an occasional giggle that Jungeun let out and a scurrying creature from afar, in search of something to nibble on.
Jungeun felt herself stumbling around over her own feet. Her feet got caught up and tangled in each other, making her trip on nothing but herself for awhile until a small convenient store came into view.
She walked up to the building and held up a hand to block out its blinding white lights it had to display the inside. She squinted at it before clumsily making her way up the stairs of the deck they had outside, chairs and tables set up.
Stumbling through the door, Jungeun looked at the counter where a worker was standing and gave the girl a crooked smile, "If you don't mind, I'm gonna go throw up in the bathroom." And then she disappeared from the girl's view without another word.
The girl just slowly nodded as she watched Jungeun's back walk away in clumsy steps. She chuckled lowly at girl's actions and shook her head.
Minutes later, Jungeun walked back out, a bit sober now. A little water on her face and a good bathroom break was all she needed to feel conscious again.
"I see you're back now. How was it?" The girl at the counter asked when she saw Jungeun wiping her hands on her shirt.
Jungeun looked up at her with raised brows and confused eyes, "Huh?" And then she remembered what happened before she left to the wash room, "Oh! It was..good I guess." An awkward laugh. "I'm not really sure how to tell you about my bathroom experience."
The girl only nodded understandingly and laughed, "Ah sorry, I didn't realize how weird of a question that was."
Jungeun shook her head, "Nah, it's good don't worry. Anyways now that I'm sober enough, do you mind keeping me company?"
Taken back a little, the girl's eyes went wide but she quickly shook them away and just nodded with a smile, "Sure, it's pretty late so I don't think we'll be disturbed. My shift is for another 4 hours or so and I think I'll need someone to keep me sane."
Jungeun smiled at that and found herself face to face with the girl, an elbow propped on the counter as a hand cupped her cheek in a hold, "I'm Jungeun, Kim Jungeun. It's nice to meet you..?" Her voice faltered as she didn't know the girl's name.
"Ah right! I'm Jeong Jinsoul and it's nice to meet you too Jungeun-ssi." Jinsoul said enthusiastically, taking a hand out for the girl to shake. She gladly accepted the exchange and let her hand linger a bit before Jinsoul coughed awkwardly, her hand slipping away.
"Sorry about that, I don't know what got to me." The shorter girl immediately apologized but Jinsoul brushed her off with a hand. Shaking her head and holding a reassuring smile on her lips, she told her it was fine and she didn't mind that much.
The atmosphere became awkward as neither girl had something to talk about. Jungeun kept her focus on everywhere but the other girl, keeping her gaze away and just looking around the interior.
