Not So Obvious

— chaewon knows she's too old to have a crush, however, maybe yeojin's right.

"Can you stop looking at me like that?" Chaewon side-eyed Yeojin who was seated next to her.

The younger girl just giggled and shook her head, continuing to ogle at the older. She had a mischievous grin and it was starting to make Chaewon feel uneasy.

Yeojin giggled again, "You like her, don't you?"

She cupped her face and held it up with propped elbows against the desk, watching the older's eyes widen.

"No I don't," Chaewon responded, a little too quickly.

"Hehe, I didn't say who!" Yeojin was 100 percent convinced that Chaewon was into Son Hyeju.

The rest of class was spent with Yeojin teasing the older girl, saying things like "You like her" in a sing-song tone and just giggling to herself whenever Chaewon threatened her with her eyes.

After the final dismissal bell rang, Chaewon sighed in relief and ignored whatever Yeojin wanted to say, already making her way out of the classroom.

She rushed down the flight of stairs and was barely near the exit when suddenly, her body collided with another.

She fell to the floor with a low grunt and held a hand against her head as it began to ring in pain. She groaned and looked up to see Hyeju standing over her, muttering things that Chaewon wasn't catching onto.

It took her awhile to realize Hyeju was talking to her and when she did, her face immediately warmed.

"Huh?"

Hyeju chuckled from above, a charming smile on her lips, "I asked if you were okay. You fell pretty hard, no?"

The girl crouched down to reach Chaewon's level and let their eyes meet. She reached a hand over and caressed her thumb against the area Chaewon was holding.

"I'm okay, yeah. Thanks," The shorter cleared her throat awkwardly.

Hyeju nodded and backed away. She stood back up to her original position and held out a hand for the older to take.

Chaewon accepted it without words and helped herself up.

When Hyeju retracted her hand, Chaewon quietly ignored the way her heart sank and how badly she wanted to hold it again.

It just felt like their hands were made for each other and the warmth that filled her own when Hyeju's was holding it made her stomach do backflips.

"Well, I gotta go now. I've got practice but uh, I'll see you around." The younger gave a light smile and waited for Chaewon to respond before running off.

Unfortunately, being the lame person she is, Chaewon's form of responding was just nodding dumbly, making whatever she felt for the younger, more obvious than it already was.

"Great going Park Chaewon, you've officially become a bigger loser than Heejin."

She sighed to herself in defeat and recollected herself, taking a deep breath before leaving the building.
