The Dark Side swirled in the air around them. It roared in the galaxy, surprising all Force users, its dark power frightening the Light siders. On Naboo, the Jedi hastened with their mission. The women who held a connection to Anakin Skywalker fought tooth and nail to not kill Vader outright.
Leia glared as she stood, anger burning in her veins, fear ruling her mind & guiding her actions. She tried to restrain herself, but her mental shields crumbled under the full onslaught of the power of the Dark Side.
She cried as fear and rage, emotions her own and not overwhelming her. She ignited her blade and jumped, her blade closing down on the black helmet of her sperm donor. Vader barely twitched his fingers, and Leia was suspended in the air, mid-strike.
Ahsoka's dark memories and mentally scarring events flashed, one after another in front of her eyes. The day she was refused to be taken on as a Padawan. The day her best friend died. The day Grievous almost killed her while her master abandoned her for a droid. The day she thought that Anakin died. The day that she thought that she would die. The day that she was kidnapped. The day that she actually died.
She snarled with anger, the Dark Side rushing through her. She charged, but she found herself suddenly suspended in the air. She grunted, pulling on the Force for aid, but couldn't strike down Darth Vader, who looked at her with what she assumed was a smug expression.
"We have little time to waste. By revealing my presence to the galaxy, all Force sects will focus their attention on my presence. We should use it to our advantage while we still can." Vader chided, his tone both mocking and apologetic.
Ahsoka snorted, muttering something no lady should ever say in her native tongue. "What else does your fancy Dark Side do?" she snipped back, her breast heaving with barely contained anger. Force, she needed to calm down. She needed to meditate, to find her inner peace.
Vader ignored her barb, instead reaching out into the Force to send waves of calm down their bond. She shivered as faint remnants of cold flowed through, along with warmth and calming emotions. Vader then gave the least helpful description that he could while being an insulting ass.
"My presence will also awaken the Jedi to the powers that still live, and relieve them of their ignorance, for the moment," Vader explained swiftly before releasing his hold on his daughter, then Ahsoka.
Leia landed in an undignified heap on the ground, while the Togruta did a twirl in the air as she gracefully landed into a crouch, one hand on the ground in front of her. Groaning, Leia stood up and tried to brush the mud off of her robes, her face definitely not red with embarrassment. Nope, not at all. Totally hadn't just been taken down just like she had during training sessions with Luke. Or gotten shown up by Vader's Padawan.
Ahsoka stood, and a light seemed gone from her eyes. She could sense other Force users on near & distant planets reaching into the Force, probing her former/current? master's Force signature, which, while still a star in the cosmos of the Force, was less bright than it had been after Vader hid three-fourths of his Force signature again. She looked unusually serious and the playful air around her was gone. She looked like Master Windu on a good day, Vader noted.
He looked at both girls. "We have little time to waste. Come on. And," he turned his head slightly so they could see one of his mask lenses, "I will be aware if you attempt to stab me in the back or kill me while making it look like an accident." he warned. He wasn't taking any chances, his force aura had surely shaken both girls up and triggered the ire of their Jedi instincts, which no doubt screamed to end him.
His daughters.
Leia gave him a withering glare like she knew the thought that had just passed through his mind. Ahsoka just gave a tiny nod. Another thought hit him, and he turned to Ahsoka.
