Pranbir: lifeless without you

Part 10

Ranbir would at times steal glances of her and noticed that she was yawning a lot.
She didn't sleep due to her exams. He called the secretary and ordered two coffees.

After 10 mins, someone entered his cabin.
Rhea:"how did you know i am coming that you ordered the cof...."
She stopped noticing Prachi.

She placed the coffee mugs on the table.

Rhea:"who is she?"
Ranbir looked at Prachi who looked at him curiously but also amused.
Prachi:"i am Shahana's friend, Prachi."

Rhea looked on uninterested.
Rhea:"if she is Shahana's friend, then why is she here?"
Prachi:"actually, Aryan is planning a surprise for her. And the responsibility is on us: the bridesmaid and the groomsmen. Right, Ranbir?"
He nodded.
Rhea:"i know Shahana better than you."
Prachi just smiled at her.

Ranbir was back to his serious mode:"have you completed your report?"
Rhea chuckled awkwardly:"about that, i don't know how to do it."
Ranbir, to himself:"i got that."
Rhea:"so i was thinking how about you give me another job. Like your assistant. It will be more easy. And you will instruct me so there won't be mistake from my side."

Prachi:"but that job is already taken."
Rhea:"by whom?"
Ranbir also looked at Prachi.
Prachi:"by me."
Ranbir tried to hide his smile.

Prachi:"Ranbir was just saying that he needed an assistant with great organizational skills just like me. I also need a job, so we already agreed. You are too late."
Rhea clenched her fists.

Ranbir:"you can leave now. Get back to work."
Rhea:"but how am i supposed to do it?"
Ranbir rubbed his temples not wanting to deal with her.
Prachi:"maybe, she should be put her with the best person for the sales report. He will help her."

Rhea:"no one asked your opinion....."
Ranbir:"she is right."
Ranbir called someone and a man came there. He was instructed to help Rhea.
Rhea had to leave unwillingly with the man in question.

Prachi was looking at her when Ranbir hugged her from behind. He rested his chin on her shoulder.
Ranbir:"she is Shahana's cousin."

Prachi:"why is she so interested to become your personal assistant?"
Ranbir, smilingly:"jealous?"
Prachi looked at him:"obviously."
That resulted into him chuckling.
Prachi:"i know there is no reason to be but still...."

She turned to him and put her hands around his neck.
Prachi:"So, Mr. Kohli, i am your assistant. What will be my first task?"
Ranbir, thinking deeply:"hmmmm... first task? Let me think.... Maybe a kiss."
He pointed to his cheek.
Prachi leaned in and did as said.

Ranbir:"for your second task...."
Prachi:"I think it's enough for today. I need to study."
Ranbir:"and yeah, you are not my assistant, you will soon be the head of the legal department. ME  Prachi Oberoi, future lawyer/legal advisor."

Prachi:"for that i need to study. And it's the most difficult one.
Ranbir:"you are going to exhaust yourself too much. And you said the same thing for the last paper, it turned out to be easy."
Prachi, slipping in her seat:"that's the problem, if all papers were easy means this one is going to be tough."

They continued their individual work. Ranbir had a meeting and he had to leave for the conference room.
Prachi told him that she will be okay on her own.

Ranbir didn't get angry on his employees after that. Not just because Prachi was there but also due to his rage in the morning.
All employees knew they couldn't afford another mistake.

After working hours:
Prachi:"now, let's go."
Ranbir followed her orders and took her bag.

They were about to leave the cabin when Rhea came in.
She noticed that Ranbir was carrying her bag but didn't question him.
Rhea:"we should head home now. It's late."
Pranbir looked at each other.

Ranbir: "i am dropping her and not going home so go by your own mean."
Rhea:"come on, Ranbir. At last you will go home itself."
Shahana:"right."
Rhea turned to face her and asked:"what are you doing here?"
Shahana:"i was nearby so thought to return with you guys. Let's go now."
She held Prachi's hand and they walked together along with Ranbir.
Rhea followed them fuming.
Rhea, in her mind:"new problem... who is this Prachi? She is not staying away from Ranbir, how will i come close to him? Shahana and Aryan are also involved."

In the meantime:
Shahana whispered to Prachi:"nice to meet you. Aryan told me about you. I am so happy, now i will have a girl friend."
Prachi smiled at her.

They got into Ranbir's car. Rhea fumed more woth the seating arrangements. Pranbir were in front with him driving and Prachi by his side while the other two girls were behind.

Shahana giggled seeing Rhea's face. No one noticed it.
Ranbir first drove to Prachi's hotel. He helped her with the bag and settled her in the room as well.

In Prachi's room:
Ranbir:"you rest here. I will come later on."
Prachi:"dinner is still on with Aryan and Shahana?"
Ranbir:"i will confirm you once i see Aryan."
Prachi nodded and he left from there.

In the car:
Shahana was on her phone and started laughing.
Rhea:"what's wrong with you? Have you gone completely mad or what?"

Shahana:"it's such a nice joke. Listen, there was a girl who planned to slowly and steadily trap a boy. But that boy was not at all interested in her...."
Rhea:"shut up... keep your joke to yourself."
Shahana, mocking her:"burning.... Are you smelling it?"

Rhea, angrily:"shut up."
Shahana:"ok."
She climbed down the car and went to the passenger seat where Prachi was.
After a few minutes, Ranbir came and they left for home.

As far as Pranbir's moments, there will be plenty soon.
It's less now but i promise there will be more just bear with me for a little while.
