Today was the last day of winter holidays, Maddy was having ballet so Castle and Beckett went to the park with the kids in order to make time to pick the girl up so they wouldn't be going home and coming back in a short period of time, and at the same time they could spend family time with their two other kids.
The both of them were sitting on the bench while the kids were playing with other kids there present. The snow was as cold as the ice we get in the drinks during the summer, the way it was falling it seemed like slowmotion so when Castle and Beckett were looking into each others gazes, everything around looked like was moving half of the speed they were which made that moment even more special.
Beckett was sitting right next to Castle but it was so cold that she decided to get a bit closer, and for her surprise Castle did the same at the exact same time, he probably thought of the same thing, they both let out a small laugh.
"I love this mind connections" Castle admitted
"I know, I do too" Beckett agreed
"We've been having them a lot more often" He added
"Why does that scare me?!" Beckett joke with a smirk on her lips making Castle wanting to kiss them so badly. They were right about to kiss but, unfortunately, they were interrupted by two little todlers doing a disgusting face and say "ew" at the same time.
"Guys, we didn't knew you were there!" Castle said quickly
"We are cold" Cosmo spoke for him and Emily.
Beckett looked at Castle raising her eyebrows and with that look saying "I told you so".
"Ok, we're going to pick your sister up, let's go to the car, you have your coats in there and you won't be cold anymore" Beckett said as she stood up and took Cosmo in her arms as Castle took Emily even thought a minute later Emily was in Beckett arms and Cosmo on Castle's, Kate couldn't take Cosmo that long anymore, he was getting heavier and as we know Beckett is strong but Castle is obviously more.
In their way to the ballet studio the kids sang all the way which gave Castle and Beckett an opportunity to talk:
"I knew they were going to be cold" Beckett snapped at his face while driving.
"Ok fine, you were right, happy now?!" Castle said annoyed about the fact that she had actually been right. Beckett laughed a little.
"What are you laughing at?" He asked her with a confused expression.
"You look adorable when you get annoyed by something." She giggled then added "And..We're here"
Twenty minutes later they were already at home. Maddy was taking a shower because she was all sweaty from her ballet class, the kids were in the living room playing on the floor and Castle was cooking lunch with Beckett, they were watching the kids at the same time.
"Cosmo's getting really heavy" Beckett told him
"I know, he's gonna be a big one"
"Just like someone I know" Beckett commented looking at the vegatables with a smile but Castle made her look at him by stealing her a quick kiss.
"They're so cute" Castle said looking at their two kids.
"You know, there was a point in my adult life where I thought I'd never be able to form a family because the right guy wouldn't show up"
"But then I appeared in your life and started following you around" Castle added to her statement "That, and then we just had the cutest kids on the planet"
"We could have another one" Beckett said and this left Castle thinking about their future, the future they were slowly building.
Then there was a cry. "You were saying?!" he asked her and the both went next to the kids.
"What happened?" Beckett asked them.
"I don't know" "Punch...Cosmo...punch...me" Cosmo said and so did Emily but between sobs
Castle and Beckett looked at Cosmo at the same time.
"Why did you hit your sister, Cosmo?"
"She tried to take that lego out of my hand" He defended himself.
"She's a baby Cosmo, you can't do that. Sit in the couch now, you'll just play after lunch" Castle told him severely and he smile when he saw Beckett looking at him.
"What was that smile for?" He asked her now in their way to the kitchen again.
"Its funny how you can be such a kid, but when it comes on being a real dad you totaly nail it!" She told him as she placed her arms around his neck and Castle his hands on her waist.
"I like to see that daddy mode on" Beckett added and then he pulled her into a long slow kiss, on the outside you can only see them kissing, but on the inside they were both sparkling like two fireworks on the darkest night and the darkest sky.
After lunch Castle was on his office and Beckett was in the living room with the kids watching cartoons with them, she saw that the little ones were pretty focused on the TV so she took her way to Castle's office:
"We should go out with the kids!" She said already inside
"Where do you wanna go?"
"I don't know, I just think that we could be spending the our last day of holidays outside."
"We could call Ryan and see if he wants to bring Sarah here to play with them"
"Castle, I said going out! Not calling someone to come to our house." Beckett told him as she rolled her eyes.
"We could meet in the park and meet Ryan there"
"We were in the park this morning"
"Can you think of any more places outside where the kids can play?" Castle asked raising his eyebrows.
"No" She finally gave up twisting her nose and he laughed.
"So do we have plans?" He asked her.
"Let's go to the park, I'll call Ry... Or he can call me! Hey Ryan, you're on speaker" She said.
"Do you have something to do now in the afternoon, guys?" Ryan asked.
"No why? We were actually about to call you to know if wanted to go to the park with the kids" Castle stated.
"Believe it or not but I called to ask the same"
"What are we waiting for then?! In 20?!" Beckett asked.
"We'll be there" Ryan answered and they hung up.
Beckett exited the office and Castle did the same after shutting his laptop. In twenty minutes they were out of the loft.
They were walking to the park, the kids were running in front of them, Castle and Beckett kept an eye on them all the time.
Beckett started feeling something touching her hand, she looked down to see what it was, and that was Castle trying to interview his fingers in hers, she then looked him and smile and made his wish come true then she gole história há d as well and as soon She did he stole he a quick kiss.
They were one happy family.
