Maddy was already in the car, in the passenger sit next to Jenny who was driving. Cosmo, Emily and Sarah Grace were in the back talking to each other. Maddy took her phone from her pocket, she clicked in the circle button of her iphone 4s just to look at a picture of her in the middle of her addoptive parents (Castle and Beckett) giving her a kiss on both cheeks, Castle on the right one and Beckett on the left. A tear ran down her face with all those memories.
Jenny had already found her actitude different from the usual, she was too quite but she decided not to say nothing.
The girl was with her headphones on and hearng music pretty loud, looking out of her window, and do you know that feeling when a song describes your situation perfectly? Well was what was happening to Maddy, and she started crying harder and harder thinking no one could hear her, cause she couldnt hear herself because of the loud music. But when Jenny stopped the car already on the park, she took one of her headphones out making her pause the music:
"Why are you crying that much Maddy?" Jenny asked her
"Im sorry but I dont want to talk aunt Jenny, i need some space"
"Do you want me to take you home or back to your parents?" Jenny asked again and when she mentioned 'parents' Maddy started crying again. Jenny knew it had something to do with that, something about Castle and Beckett.
Cosmo and Sarah Grace were playing with other kids, Jenny was sitting in the bench with emily on er lap sleeping with her head on Jenny's chest and Maddy was sitting in the swings and listening to her music, Jenny was worried about her, she knew her. she decided to go over her and sat in the swing next to Maddy still with Emily on her arms.
Maddy took one earphone from her hear so she could hear Jenny
"You know, it was here that you dad proposed to your mom" Jenny said
"Yeah I know" the girl answered with a sad tone
"Maddy what's wrong? can I help you with something?"
"Thank's but no, no one can help me"
"Is it something at school, i thought you were liking your new school"
"it is at school, but please I really dont wanna talk about it aunt Jenny"
"I would hug you if your sister wasnt sleeping" Jenny said and looked at little Emily sleeping like an angel. Maddy laughed
"Thank's" Madyy said
"For what?!" Jenny asked
"Giving me space"
After a while Jenny dropped Cosmo, Emily (that was now awake) and Maddy at Castle's and Beckett's loft. as they opened the door Maddy ran to her room so did Cosmo to his and Emily to the couch
"Something is going on with Maddy, its about her school and I dont know why with you two" Jenny said "she's been crying and listening to music the all afternoon" she finished
"We'll talk to her, I had noticed she was weird earlier but she told she was with her period, looks like she lied" Beckett said
"was that what she told you in the prcinct when she hugged you?" Castle asked laughing
"Castle, this serious, soething is perturbing her"
"Or someone" Castle added
Jenny left and Castle sat Cosmo in the couch with Emily so he and Beckett could talk with Maddy without him running around the house
Beckett knncked on Maddy's door, then opened it and saw her sitting in her desk probably doing homework.
"Can we talk Maddy?" Beckett asked closing the door as Castle also got inside
"I have nothing to talk about" She said trying not to look at them in the eyes
"Maddy look at us" Beckett said again
The 14 year old girl looked at them and Beckett and Castle saw a couple of tears running down her face, she stood up and ran to Beckett's arms. Castle putted his both hands on maddy's shoulders while she was hugging Kate and then said:
"We can talk to us, we can help you"
The three of them sat on the girl's bed and looked at her:
"Talk Maddy, talking always help" Castle said
"Do you guys love me? I mean do you love me like I really am yours?" she asked start crying again
"Why do you even ask that?! you know we love you as our daughter, you were our first child" Beckett said hugging her
"Did anyone said anything at school about you being adopted?!" Castle asked raising his eyebrow
"How do you know?" Maddy asked breaking the hug
"I just thought it. what did he or she said??"
"She found out I was adopted and started saying things like 'your real parents didnt liked you and they didnt wanted you as their daughter so they gave you to adoption, and now your adoptive parents pretend to love you to make you feel better, its impossible they really love you" and she told everyone and now the whole class is always laughing at me"
Castle lift her chin with his hand and looked her in the eyes:
"They have no idea what they're laughing at, they're just jealous." He said
"And Maddy" Beckett hold her hand "We'll always love you no matter what, you'll always be our girl, and those jerks in your class dont know with who they're playing with" She said and looked at Castle
"And I have a plan"
"What?" Maddy asked
"Monday you'll see" Castle answer
"By the way, have you choose what you're going to wear tomorrow to the book party?" Beckett asked her with a smirk
"Not really, but im not sure if I wanna go, Mary is going to be there, the one who told everyone I was adopted"
"Does she know you dad is THE Richard Castle?!" Beckett asked again looking at Castle sending him a look
"No one knows, just Emma" Emma is Maddy's best friend, Maddy had change school to go with her to this new one
"You need to go, and you need to look more gorgeous than you are" Castle said "And this is order" he said and maddy laughed, so did Beckett
"Family hug!!" Beckett screamed like a little girl. they were there hugging and castle decided to steal a kiss from Beckett to complete the moment.
After dinner the kids fell asleep and Maddy was in her room skyping with Emma, Castle and Beckett were in the living room watching TV as always.
