"Maddy we're waiting for you" Beckett screamed and Maddy ran downstairs
"Sorry, we can go now" the girl announced
The Castle family walked to the car ready to go to the shopping center where Santa Claus was waiting for them. Correction: Where the Santa Claus was wanting for Cosmo and Emily.
As they were walking to the place where the Santa was, Maddy and Beckett stopped in almost every shop until they got there, "Women" Castle thought
They were now on the line waiting for their time, Beckett was carrying Emily in her arms and Cosmo was in Castle's back like a little monkey, Maddy was just standing next to them wishing to that to finish as soon as possible, then she saw a poster on the fake tree next to the house were Santa was, she ran to read it. On the 4th floor they were having ice skating for only five dollars, Maddy wanted to go but she had forgot her money at home and also she didn't wanted to spend money since she was earning it to by an iPod touch for her. Still, there was a problem, the ice skating was for elders than 8 and Cosmo and Emily were a lot under that. She got back next to Castle and Beckett:
"Mom, dad, can we go ice skating after we're done here?" The girl asked
Beckett looked at Castle and laughed
"Stop its not funny" He said like a little boy
"What is so funny?" Maddy asked confused
"The thing is your dad doesn't skate, last time he tried a couple of years ago before you were with us, every time he took a step he fell" Maddy looked at her dad and laughed just by imagining him falling on the ice.
"Its OK dad, in that way you can stay outside the rink with Cosmo and Emily and watch mom and I doing it the right way, and maybe you can learn by watching" she said to piss Castle off.
"Give me an high five girl" Beckett said as she laughed of Castle.
"Santa!!" Cosmo screamed pointing to the man sat on a chair, dressed with a Santa costume and with a kid on his lap crying. Castle took him off his back and placed him on the floor holding his hand.
"I don't think Cosmo's going to cry this year, he looks pretty excited" Maddy commented and looked at Cosmo
"Lets hope for the best" Castle stated
"It's our turn, let's go" Beckett said
They started walking towards the man and Emily started crying burying her face onto Beckett's neck:
"She's scared" Kate mumbled as she bounced Emily trying to calm her down but she had to left Castle's side to make the girl stop.
Castle placed Cosmo on Santa's lap and he started talking to him:
"So what do you want for Christmas little boy?" The man asked Cosmo
"Toys" The baby answered proud of his answer making Castle smile
"Do you want to take a picture?" Santa asked Castle who looked at Beckett, she slowly started walking in their direction:
"She fell asleep" Kate said and Castle looked at his daughter sleeping on Beckett's shoulder.
They all stood next to the Santa and Cosmo was still in his lap, the photographer took a picture and then handed it to them. Santa gave Cosmo a coloring book and another one to Emily but Castle took it because the baby was sleeping.
"Can we go ice skating now?!" Maddy asked impatient
"Let's go" Castle called them
They were on the line to get on the rink and the music there was pretty loud. One music finish and another one started, "All I want for Christmas is you" was the one, as Caskett heard the music, they both looked at each other and smiled, maybe was just a coincidence that they looked at the exact moment, or was the lyrics of the music that made that happen. Castle was holding Cosmo's hand on his left side and Beckett was carrying sleepy Emily in her right arm and shoulder, so that gave them the opportunity to give hands:
