Marinette had been drawing in her journal when she looked at the clock. It was around 6:45 and Marinette decided that she wanted to go to the orphanage. The only thing she wasn't looking forward to was a whole bunch of people asking her questions.
Marinette stepped out of her room and looked around. There was one problem, she didn't know where Alfred stayed! Marinette bit her lip and looked at a door that had the label: ROBIN'S CAVE
She raised her hand in a fist. Marinette hesitated before she knocked on the door. She heard a loud groan from inside. Rude, she thought.
Damian opened the door. "What?" he asked.
"Geez, I was only asking if you could show me where Alfred's room is."
"Take two turns to the left after the kitchen, his room is the first one on the right." Marinette nodded slowly. She turned to leave and turned back around to Damian. He was about to shut the door, but seeing Marinette look towards him, made him know that she was going to ask something else.
"Who...who are the people in the photo? I mean, it looks like you, and Alfred said you are some sort of relatives, but didn't tell me the whole correlation."
Damian's face hardened. Without saying anything, he slammed the door in Marinette's face. Marinette was taken aback. Damian might be rude, but she didn't think he would get so angry about the picture and shut her out.
Marinette frowned. Why did he do that?
She used the directions Damian had told her and eventually found a room that was labeled: BUTLER
She opened the door and found Alfred writing/filing something. He looked up when Marinette entered the room and smiled.
"Hello, Marinette, would you like to leave now?" Marinette nodded. Alfred took off his reading glasses, setting them on the table, and followed Marinette out of the room.
She let him go in front of her when they exited the room though since she didn't know where the garage was.
Alfred showed her to the garage and opened the door, revealing a beautiful blue mustang.
"That's the car you drive?"
"No, miss. It's Master Wayne's, but he allows me to use it, sometimes." Marinette smiled and entered the passenger seat.
Alfred hopped into the driver's seat and opened the garage. He backed out and Marinette heard the engine roar. VROOOOOM VROOOOOOOOOOOMMMMMM!!
It didn't take long for them to reach the orphanage, and soon they were met with a mob of girls of all ages. When Marinette got out, the girls crowded around her and started asking questions about what the deal was with her and Damian and why she never told them. Marinette rubbed her temple. The girls were starting to give her a headache.
"Ok, ok, move out of the way. Let Marinette through and explain what she wants." Marinette grinned at her orange-haired friend.
"Why'd you need to come back?" Marinette laughed.
"We had left without me grabbing any of my clothes and belongings. Alya chuckled. "Shows how much they care."
"We sat down and watched the news, everyone was waiting for the section about Batman and Robin, and suddenly the news reporter started talking about a girl Damian was supposedly dating. Then, there was a picture of you! Why didn't you tell me?"
Marinette looked around and guided Alya inside to their room. Marinette opened a suitcase and started explaining everything. Marinette knew she could trust Alya, she wasn't sure why she doubted it before.
"Ohh, so you're not actually dating, it's just so people won't think Damian's a brat and only cares about himself."
"Even though he is a brat. Anyway, I just need to pack a few things, and then I'll be off again." Alya nodded. Marinette tossed shirts, shoes, socks, underwear, bras, pants, and shorts into the suitcase. She added her books and games, stuffed animals and drawing pads, accessories and fabrics, into her other suitcase.
"You still carry around that small sketchbook?" Marinette nodded and pulled out a sketchbook from the inside of her jacket pocket. She always keeps it there and it's her favorite sketchbook, she doesn't leave anywhere without it. That's why she had something to do for a bit while she was at the Wayne mansion.
Alfred knocked on the door that was open. "Ready, miss? Master Wayne would like us back for dinner now." Marinette nodded. She said goodbye to Alya and hugged her. This time, she officially got to say goodbye to all of her friends at the orphanage. They were still trying to ask questions, but Alfred got Marinette out of the building. She took one last look back at the still partly burned building and left with Alfred in the blue Mustang.
